I grew up without a dad for a while, until my mom remarried. And when I was very little, before my parents got a divorce, my biological father was an asshole. Class A, hit my mother, drank, didnt have a job. Ive never hated men though. I'm not sure if my culture taught me not to hate men or if the fact that my step dad was one of the kindest and most noble people I have ever met. Either way, I never really was drawn into the all men will rape if they had the chance thought process. I see it a lot, in many of my female friends. But I think it's a learned behavior. They are taught it is easier to blame men than it is to take credit for their actions.

I think "feminists hate men" is quite a stretch. You are referring only to the worst of feminists, the ones that seem to exist mostly in the minds of anti-feminists and on the internet. I, for once, have never met one.

In fact, I was raised by feminist parents and have a actively feminist brother. While that sometimes leads to discussions with me, they are all very reasonable people who are true, although a little misguided, egalitarians. I live in northen Europe in one of the world's most feminist countries. Many of my friends are feminist. And none of the people I know, as in, not one, are misandric.

In short, I believe your question relies on a false assumption and cannot therefore be answered.

I think it's only the really hardcore ones and my guess is that they had a male treat them really shittily at some point in their lives. That is the case with the few that I know personally.

Cross section of homosexual, fat, ugly, mentally disturbed, betas. Homosexuals have high rates of abuse usually at the hands of men, fat & ugly suffer chronic rejection from men, mentally disturbed have a socially acceptable outlet for their disfunction. Beta males who let their own fears intimidate them rather than admit their own fears they project them on others as attacks on themselves justifying their targeted vitrol.

There actually is no sexual bias you can remove sex/race/etc from the picture entirely and see these mental states play out the same way regardless.

Its more fundamental than that, I think. I think it is a result of the instinctual, almost pathological fear of rape written into a woman's genes. (Women feel more threatened by rape, even when they have never been molested, than men that HAVE been raped). Its just a higher background level of fear in their minds. It seemingly has nothing to do with the actual situation: a woman could 'feel' the rape all around her while alone in a reinforced concrete bunker six miles beneath the earths surface.

The innate quality of the 'OMGRAEP' fear doesn't prevent the female mind from lashing out at the perceived SOURCE of the fear: men.

So, I'd guess that the reason feminists hate men is because women themselves have a tendency to hate men.

Feminists in general hate men,

There are serious problems with feminism well worth discussing, but generally it's a subject of criticism for failing to be egalitarian.

The vast majority of society shares the misandry you can find in feminism, and then has way more on top of it. If you want to ask "why do feminists hate men", you're better off why asking society in general "hates" men.

While there is a very small and very vocal minority of feminists that hate men, feminists in general don't HATE men. Feminists have the appearance of hating men, not because bile rises up every time they see a male, but because they are horribly misinformed about the reality of the current state of affairs.

So take domestic violence as an example. According to feminist logic, the Duluuth model, 85% of abuse victims are female. This would make domestic violence a gendered issue with women being the overwhelming majority of victims. Asking men to do more to stop "Violence against women" with this understanding of Domestic violence isn't only not hate, but reasonable and sound.

The issue is that the premise is flawed. Domestic violence isn't 85% male perpetrated and 15% female perpetrated. Domestic violence is 75% mutual combat 10% Unilateral male violence and 15% unilateral female violence. Males are more often the victims of domestic violence by a narrow margin.

With this understanding of domestic violence the feminist advocacy isn't trying to help the majority of victims, It's telling the majority of victims to "Man UP" and fetch the fainting couch for the minority of victims because they are worth more. It can be very hard to not see this behavior as "Feminists in general hate men", but it's not. Feminists are acting on misinformation to try and protect women. It's not hating men.
