Look at it this way.

To be a supporter of mens human rights in western civilizaton today is similar to...

Speaking out against discrimination towards black people in the deep south in 1900. YOu may have gotten lynched by a mob of angry white people then(including women). Today if you speak up for mens rights some in the media may label you a woman hater or man baby and say awful things to discredit you.

Speaking out against slavery and question the ethics of slave owners in the south in 1820. How dare you question the ethics of a slave owner!

Be a German in 1941 who questions his country's policies of stripping jews of their assets and sending them off to jail on bogus charges. Be careful, the media SS may count you a triator and silence you as well.

The Point is that it is not popular to support MHRA right now. Most people still do not get it. Most people still are blissfully happy to enjoy the feminist state of living. Many people are downright hostile that you dare question the current growing feminist state policies or raise awareness of suffering men. After all, all men hold power in the world and all men are guilty of everything that harms women, right.

The concept that some men are facing injustice, that some men need help, that is so unnatractive to our society and is usually rejected. Some people have no clue what is really going on. some people know a little but they dont really care because it is easier to dismiss an unattractive fringe movement for being unnecessary. Some people, mainly die hard feminists, are so disgusted with mens rights they actively mock it and fight against it.

The MHRA is going to be as diverse as the feminist movement, if not more so even though both movements are very different.

Get behind mens rights and strap in because soon it will be more boots on the ground protesting, soon it will get more media coverage.

As decades march on, more and more people are going to wake up to Mens Human Rights, and you can breath a sigh of relief knowing you helped in a positive way and did not cower to the detractors now because just maybe that friend who disses you now, may join you in a march for mens rights a decade from now when they understand what the movement is all about.

When it came out to my friends that I support the MRM in most issues, I was banned from one of my "friends" house, which happens to be where our group hangs out. Aside from that person, I lost at least two other friends and caused a divide in our group, all for daring to point out that Elliot Rodgers was in no way connected to the MRM. In the long run, you're probably better off.

I've always just told people that feminism is too conservative for me. It just doesn't do enough to ensure total gender equality. We are entering into a crises of male antiintellectualism that the traditional institutions that came out of the 20th century feminist movement are ill-equipped to take head on. Feminism is just too old fashioned to meet the emerging challenges of the future. Not only is this 100% true, but it makes their heads explode because they can't rationalize it from their preconceived notion of what a supporter of mens' human rights is supposed to stand for.

This is why you don't try to gently introduce people to the MRM. What you do is start by actively attacking negative aspects of feminism that aren't defensible.

Everyone is so quick to call this other guy not a friend and worthy of being dropped immediately, like anyone can just change a belief at the drop of a hat and there aren't many misconceptions out there.

I came to this subreddit thinking the same thing as that guy. Only after reading it and related materials (like the Myth of Male Power) and thinking about it did ideas I first saw here start making sense. And there are a lot of sexist posts here that I have to wade through for the helpful material.

I don't see the point in condemning people so fast. A ton of people here come here because they believed the opposite before and got disillusioned somehow.
