Beyond that, give her a dose of her own medicine. Maybe it's she whose sexuality has been "socially constructed" and she's just projecting. Maybe it's she who is anti-sex because she has some sort of mental disorder or maybe she just hates men. Who is she to say what is a healthy sexual appetite for other human beings? Does she also have a problem with gays and lesbians being attracted to the same sex? Is she just a bigot?

Feminists are like junkies who accuse everyone else of being high. Their views on sexuality are so out of touch with reality that they actually believe it's everyone else who has a problem.

You don't need any sources to disprove her point--she is the one making the AUDACIOUS claim that sex drive isn't biological. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and if she's making you prove a negative by proving her wrong, then she's manipulating you dishonestly and unfairly. Simply put, the very fact of sexual reproduction throughout the animal kingdom provides overwhelming evidence to the contrary. She would literally need the Higgs-Boson particle of social engineering theory to even approach such a mountain of evidence, and even with such an amazing arsenal of data she would still only be at the level of arguing the nature vs. nurture debate, which itself must assume that natural biological sex drive exists anyway.

In other words, don't try to disprove nonsense; show sense, and let nonsense try (and inevitably fail) to prove itself.

All you really need to do is bring up asexuality. Asexuals can have a sex drive and yet not want to have sex with other people which is the opposite of what society says. If the sex drive was a social construct then either asexuals wouldn't exist or all of them wouldn't have any sex drive.

You should also know that a sex drive and sexuality are two different things. Male sexuality in the USA does have issues with sexism and violence but that has nothing to do with the sex drive itself. Wanting to have sex is biological. Wanting certain types of sex is social but may have some biological basis just like other types of wants and likes.

The thing I hate about the whole social construct idea, is that it completely denies that we're animals. Special ones, sure. But not the only ones with sex differentiation, and a part of that is sex drive.

It completely ignores the premise of, "How did we come to be the way we are, and what are the lingering effects of that?" They have an unrealistic and flawed perception of what it is to be human. And because of that, they'll never truly understand that this whole "freedom in society" thing is relatively new. Don't have powdered baby formula? Well, I guess you're going to be pigeon holed into the "gender role" of mother, because only one of the two of us has the capacity to make milk with our breasts. Which you know, makes sense. Since I certainly don't have a babyfactory in the middle of my body.

It's a complete and total disregard of "Is" in favor of "Ought to be"

As someone who has an exceptionally low sex drive:

I can see where she gets it. However I would suggest she see a therapist or psychologist. It sounds like she is upset that she sees something other people enjoy and she really has no understanding of it.

How do I know this isn't the case? Well I was pressured into having sex by a group of my friends who were men, I slept with a woman. Feminists seem to think there is going to be this "subtle" pressure that we don't notice: Thats not how it works. Every time you have felt peer pressure (unless you were drunk or high) you've noticed. It doesn't feel good. I regret having had sex then, but its because I realized I'm just not like most people. Not a big deal. Does the world feel sexualized? Yeah, but the world also seems obsessed with meat, I only notice because I DON'T EAT IT. Its not social, well, eating meat is, but not sex. Imagine however no one had to eat, ever. How would the world look? Obsessed with food. How would the world look if we didn't have a choice but to eat? Obsessed with food. What gets forgotten by not just feminists, but really everyone is that because they don't experience something directly they think that it is a social construct. They don't experience it so neither does anyone else, because it was reinforced.

The reason its bull shit in this case isn't dependent on her being a feminist. They just almost always assume everything is social.

Edit: Just venting/curious past this point.

I've noticed that a lot of feminists argue that looking at women only for sex is "wrong" because it "objectifies" women. Most the men I meet only see relationships as a way to get sex, they see women they work with as respectable, valuable people. Men on the whole seem to separate sex from the value of a person "I want to fuck you." Has nothing to do with "I respect you." Where as feminists who are women want to be respected for things they are, and see people as wanting sex from them for those things. This is backwards thinking. I personally see no reason to date, because I don't want sex. Do I some how undervalue women because of this? I noticed this when I pointed out to a friend who was a woman I knew saying "Well most men don't talk to women outside of work, unless its to sleep with them." Some how that was vulgar?
