People break the law all the time. I live in an illegal state doesn’t stop people from smoking pot daily

[–]Hubris1998 5 points6 points7 points 2 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I'd just make it so that the cheating partner gets a worse settlement because of it. But making it a crime would be stupid.

[–]onion_rings_addict 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

and since men cheat more than women guess who benefits from OP's idea? lol

[–]AlastorSitri 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Which, there should be nothing wrong with that. Good women should be rewarded just as good men should be rewarded.

[–]Hubris1998 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Society.

[–]Petrosmine1 point 2 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Making it a crime would force out a divorce so the man stops pointlessly investing into a woman, just imagine the things going on in a family with a cheating mother, it's a disaster for the father and especially the kids after finding out and getting it to court, it's much better to just get it over with and give custody to the father

[–]purplish_possum 3 points4 points5 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Criminal law needs to be reserved for actual criminal behavior. Being an asshole should never be a crime.

[–]SilentFroggy 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Shouldn’t have to be a law. If she cheats, at least you know.

[–]onion_rings_addict 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

OP friendly reminder that men cheat more than women so this woukld benefit women?

knowing how this sub thinks, are you sure you thought this through?

[–]AlastorSitri 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Absolutely.

Not everyone in this sub hates women, simply just the fact of how promiscuous society has become. Loyal women who want lasting relationships should be rewarded if that bond is broken, just as loyal men should be as well.

Furthermore, this would increase the amount of single, loyal women on the market. Nobody is forcing 2 people to stay together, but if policy pushed cheating men into calling off the relationship instead of cheating, it would free these women up instead of wasting their time on an already failed relationship.

[–]onion_rings_addict 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not everyone in this sub hates women

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

right sure

but if policy pushed cheating men into calling off the relationship instead of cheating,

that's not how cheaters think though, they want to stick their dick in that coworker and also have a wife and family

you mean if they loose money then they will really think it through? instead of just loosing their wife, kids and house like they do now?

the levels of delusion

[–]Senloof 4 points5 points6 points 2 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Anything that holds women accountable would help

[–]purplish_possum 5 points6 points7 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I really don't understand this desire to make women suffer.

Just don't get married. If your GF cheats show her the door.

[–]Specific_Praline_362 -1 points0 points1 point 2 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

So women are the only ones who cheat?

[–]Eternal_rpycTbBlackPill 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Men “cheating” in the western definition is much much much better than a woman cheating. Let men have multiple wives. Idc about muh equality I am a man.

[–]Specific_Praline_362 3 points4 points5 points 2 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

lol loser. You deserve to be alone.

[–]Eternal_rpycTbBlackPill 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah but for other reasons. That’s not for a fem to decide

[–]Specific_Praline_362 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don't know you, so at the end of the day, you don't matter to me at all. Just don't go around spouting shitty views, then cry because you have a dry dick. If you think it's only looks and not mindset that impacts your luck in the dating world, you're wrong.

[–]Eternal_rpycTbBlackPill 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Shut up drink my pee

[–]Specific_Praline_362 3 points4 points5 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nah I'll drink this beer instead and I will never shut up.

[–]health_throwaway195 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

From a man’s perspective. Please familiarize yourself with the concept of subjectivity.

[–]Eternal_rpycTbBlackPill 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I know you’ll disagree. I just don’t care.

[–]health_throwaway195 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Stating your opinion like a fact makes you sound cognitively disabled.

[–]Eternal_rpycTbBlackPill 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

A man who is genuinely cognitively disabled holds more important than whatever you have to say about this, these rules aren’t for your kind to define

[–]health_throwaway195 -1 points0 points1 point 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What rules? Do you mean principles? Because these are not actual rules in modern society. Sorry you weren’t born 2000 years ago

[–]Eternal_rpycTbBlackPill 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is exactly why none of you should ever be considered in even what color a prison brick wall is painted

“Muh modern society!!!” IDGAF. I would hope to die before I live past 25 in this society. You are NPCs who live purely for either your biology or for the generic STATUS QUO ™️ as long as it also alines with your biology, arguing with you is like telling a shitty robot that it sucks, doesn’t change anything. Hope dudes reading this will understand at least

[–]health_throwaway195 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I guess you would hope that. Too bad you didn’t.

[–]RopeorDope1 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You know divorce is currently at a 50-year low, right? And no, that wouldn't do much.

[–]the-lone-squid 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Nah, this is just tradcuck cope

[–]Petrosmine 2 years ago [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

I really don't give a shit about this thing, I just want them to be held accountable for leading on

[–]the-lone-squid 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They will never be held accountable

[–]purplish_possum 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So what? Criminal law isn't there to punish being an asshole.

[–]purplish_possum 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Marriage can often be a terrible idea.

The only reason to get married is if it makes sense to you economically. That will be the minority of cases. Like companies have options regarding how to structure themselves so do couples.

Marriage is about economics. It's not about enforcing good behavior. Get over it.

[–]AlastorSitri 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

To my knowledge marriage is only economically worth it if you can claim the other person as unemployed and a dependant. Outside of that, it is a tax hike for 2 working adults

[–]purplish_possum 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Just the opposite actually. Tax issues are inconsequential.

Marriage, makes economic sense when both parties make at least UMC money. It facilities borrowing money, accumulating assets, and facilitates wealth transfer. When both spouses have roughly equal incomes divorce isn't as dangerous.

Ordinary people with incomes under about 120K each are better off single.

[–]AlastorSitri 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But you can do that as 2 single people can you not?

For loans you can have your spouse as a co-borrower to have both of your incomes evaluated. For accumulated assets you are going to be evaluated at your household income come income tax season vs individual income as a single person. Plus in the case of a house, you can just add them to the title.

[–]purplish_possum 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Being married means a lot less paperwork, easier underwriting, and much more.

My brother bought a 750K house with his GF. Getting the bank to use both their incomes to qualify was a royal pain in the ass. If they'd been married it wouldn't have been an issue.

[–]SoulBadguy0408 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think people would 100% still do it or divorce if still legal could happen for a dozen other reasons

Although it gives something to think about

If monogamy was more enforced somehow and I'm not talking like sending people to jail for having sex then would hope to see some kinda of benefit compared to how things are now

[–]AlastorSitri 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

divorce if still legal could happen for a dozen other reasons

Yes and no. Biggest 2 reasons people divorce is infidelity or money matters. At least with money matters, both parties know about it and are generally on the same page about making things work or not

With cheating, all it does is waste the other parties time in an already failed relationship. Even if nothing changed and people still considered cheating, if policy encouraged divorce over just straight up cheating, id consider it a win

[–]Cyrrow 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What would be the punishment?

[–]Cethlinnstooth 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's my thought too.

Seriously I would consider saying yes to guys just so the wives could send them to prison.

[–]Additional_Speech1641 point 2 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Absolutely bc if they created even problems got married people, we’d be less likely to marry at all.
