My wife cheated and has been dragging this out despite no kids and no reason to prolong all of this. Consider yourself lucky she's doing it fast whilst I'm in some weird purgatory waiting with my lawyer to see wtf she does. I'm sorry this happened. Life isnt fair sometimes when we think we do everything right and the way they're supposed to be.

Get through the divorce and move on. What happened in the past doesn't matter. It won't change a thing. Take all that wasted energy and use it to make memories with your kiddos. Dinner, neighbors and all that crap is just fluff. Keep your eye on the prize and a directed movement to a positive reality.

The situation sucks but by asking for a quick divorce while she thinks she's in love, she's doing you a favor. Do everything you can to take advantage and ask for everything you can think of, wvwn if you don't want more, ask anyway. She probably thinks this guy will take care of her financially, and when she finds out otherwise, it'll be too late.

Don't worry about what the kids see and don't see. You have absolutely no control over this and it is not your responsibility to cover it up. It is not your job to defend and lie for your STBX to "protect" your kids. You just be a good reliable dad for your kids and answer any questions they have strictly factual. Ignore all the "why" questions and say I don't know. Leave all the assumptions up to themselves. Once I started doing this I was able to sleep at night.

Your neighbors suck for not saying anything and so does your wife. On the flip side, get the divorce as quick as you want. You can use her affair brain fog to get a better settlement if you tell her you'll fight her for a long time if she wants a better deal.

You can't control her behavior. You can only control your reaction to her behavior. Once you accept and internalize it, your life will be better off.

Stop giving a shit what other people think. Most people have their own problems to deal with and couldn't care less who is fucking who. And if your friends and neighbors prioritize gossiping about you, you're better off without them.

Be grateful she's distracted with the paramour. It means you'll have a much smoother time going through divorce and achieve your goals, because she is distracted. Use it to your advantage. Offer to take the kids more frequently or for longer periods of time. Tell her with a straight face that you want her to be "happy". It's not about what you tell a woman, it's about how you make her *feel*.

Take the time during divorce and afterwards to figure out what was missing in your relationship. Then do something about it. Make more money. Ditch the dad bod. Be the leader. The best revenge is a life well lived.
