I’ve been living with my STBX under the same roof while the divorce is running in court and we’re trying to sell the house. I’m make the most money so we have already agreed on the amount for alimony and child support (which I haven’t started paying yet). However, she wants to get some money every month before we both move out and I start paying alimony + child support.

She works part time and doesn’t want to work full time, so she makes little money which I’m not asking for anything - she keeps it all to herself while I’ve been paying all the bills in the house (mortgage, utilities, food, etc.). She does not pay a single bill here but still wants some money every month.

She says if I don’t give her some money she will put a request to the court for early alimony… Not sure what the law says, but is she entitled to any money in this case since I’m paying all the bills??

From what I heard before, she should actually be paying half of all the bills, which I could even fight for in court to get reimbursed when she gets her equity of the house, but of course she doesn’t agree with that approach.

What should I do? If she files for early support, I think she would also have to start paying for half of all the bills. Otherwise, I won’t be able to afford.
