For context: separated over 2 years ago, divorced one year ago and had improved so much. In the best shape I’ve been in in over ten years, eating well, gotta motorcycle (lifelong dream), and the cherry on top? My daughter adores me. I got 50/50 custody, and custodian and pay zero in CS and alimony. I make good money after taking a shot on my career during separation that really panned out. My boss is great, co-workers incredible, and I’ve done so much child trauma healing through therapy, self work and dedication.

Last week, my kiddo tells me about her new friend that lives with her and mommy. His name is Cameron. Cameron is also the man that was the suspected affair partner back when all the marriage collapsing was going on, but like a dummy, I’d let her convince me she hadn’t ever been unfaithful and that she wasn’t seeing anyone even after the divorce was finalized, and it actually made sense in my dumb brain - it’s like once you see a woman give birth to your child, you can see her as nothing but an angel on earth. Truly stupid, I know.

Long story, short: I am absolutely wrecked by the news. It’s like a small sliver of my heart held out hope that she’d somehow realize what a good dude I was and want to put the family back together. Turns out, she’s been lying about being miserable, stuck in life, and is being the dutiful partner I’d always wanted.

Queue step 1 of healing process all over again. Anyone else a complete and utter moron piece of shit, like me??
