Took two years, but the petition was signed by the commissioner the Tuesday before Christmas. Cost me nearly everything I worked so hard for over the 17 years, house, car, boat. Luckily my income has a hockey stick trajectory. I figure it's going to take about 5 years to get back to where I was.

I still need to make an equalization transfer (so I don't need to split my retirement / equities with a qdro). It's the last step. It's a steep payment, but worth it. Getting that concision was pretty easy because she doesn't understand how compounding interest functions. I suspect she'll be broke in 2 years time (She has a condo in pending status with a 7% interest rate). Thankfully we never had kids. About to go 0 dark 30 on her.

Was a pretty lonely holiday season, and I still need to figure out if I stay in a city where I have no solid friendships, or head home to the other side of the country. Thankfully I'm registered as fully remote at my company and can pretty much go where ever I want.

Thank you to everyone who posts here, even if it's to vent. It helps more than you know to see that there is a pattern to all this divorce / relationship non-sense. Now that I can see the patterns I know who to avoid in the future, and how to better manage my future relationships.
