I just started a whole new iCloud account. So everything works as it should and the photos app is basically empty.

That solved the problem and it cost me nothing except I do still pay for the other account’s iCloud storage (until the time comes where I’m ready to stop and let it all go).

I was with her 30 years ..

Start with FB and delete all pictures shes in online

Second throw out any photos I had with her in it

Third delete digital photos from phone..

Clear your mental space..its done and over with, accept it

That time as passed , move on and stop living in the past. It does nothing for you anymore

Turn off Google moments photos or whatever its called. Don't look at old photos. Those days have gone.

After I discovered that my STBX had run back to a former affair partner, I deleted EVERY single photo of her: before the wedding, wedding, her alone, and the two of us together. The only photos I kept are the ones with the kids - I will offer these to them once it's all over.

I also removed her from my social media account (account was already set to private - so now she can't see what I post). I also unfollowed her account.

I found this exercise somewhat therapeutic.

I was married for 17 years, not quite as long as you were, we travelled all over Europe before kids, two kids: 14 and 16. I did not delete the photos, it's just there wasn't a single time during last 3 years post divorce when I opened them. My advice to you is to cut the cord ASAP, starting with deleting the wallpaper photo on your phone.

I was married 20 years and we lived all over the country. Traveled, 3 kids, tons of photos and memories.

I painstakingly went through every photo in my phone and deleted anything with her in them. Same with social media. Didn't even care if my kids were in the photo. Deleted and erased.

She cheated on me and while I've moved on, I want no memory of her. Anything she ever gave me I threw away.

Same thing, I didn't delete a single pic. She claims she was never happy over the last 20 years so my kids one day will need to see them as she will surely try to alienate them. I threw out full trunks of mementos though that I saved.

The pics stopped bothering me, I can look at them with indifference, they made me cry sometimes before. That I why I know I have moved on from her.

I used iphone's facial ID feature in the photos app and had them excluded.
Android probably has a similar function.

Didn't delete the pics, but they won't show up in my photo gallery now unless I manually add them back in.

Helped a bunch.

I'm similar to you op, 23 years and lots of memories but the way I look at those is those are the past. It is not that way anymore and the future would be miserable if I stayed.
