I (44m) am over 2 years into my separation and divorce process. After multiple failed mediation attempts it is ultimately headed for trial. While I have no intention to start dating until things are settled, I am curious to hear from y’all about when you regained your self-confidence when it comes to women in general? Perhaps some of you never lost it, but I certainly have. I find myself looking at an attractive woman at the gym or grocery store and my inner dialogue immediately goes to “she’d never be attracted to you” or “you’re not desirable”. I workout, have a solid career, house, hobbies, etc. I try my best to be a good dad and a good man. My family and friends all agree I am, but for some reason I cannot shake the self-depreciating negativity when it comes to how I perceive women (potential partners) view me. I read posts about guys who seem to move on so effortlessly and wish I knew how to unlock that energy within myself again. I used to have it as a younger man before my marriage, but it currently eludes me completely. Perhaps simply more time is needed, but open to other advice if you have any.
