I had her served on a Friday at 6pm long after sons and I were at a Boy Scouts Campout. That was the most enjoyable phone call of the marriage for me. And when we got back she had cooled enough so she wasn’t explosively angry. I simply said, “you drove me to it, you know once I commit I’m all in and don’t turn back”. She couldn’t kick me out of the house because I own it and was only name on the deed.

Real talk though, reactions are all over the map. Some guys get the full meltdown with tears and "how could you," some get rage and stuff thrown at walls, some get the ice-cold silent treatment followed by her lawyer calling in like 2 hours ready for war. And then there's the guys who get hit with false accusations the same day she's served because she's been planning her counter-move the whole time.

My ex was out of the house already. She was served in a parking lot after her visitation time was over.

The process server waited until I had my daughter in my truck before approaching her. I left and didn't look back.

I was home with the kids when my STBX got served. It was a Saturday. Boy was my STBX livid. It was uncomfortable for everyone and I would never want to do that again.

Only advice is to give your STBX plenty of advance notice. I did. At least it won’t be a total shock.
