Its all a matter of perspective - I pay full child support but have 50% custody (she was SAHM)

I'm paying full whether I get the kids 50, or 0% - which sucks.

But getting them for 2 extra weeks? Dude, sign me up. I love my kids, I want them all the time.

Screw her thank yous or appreciation. You're not married to her anymore. And you got more time with your kids!

You're a lucky man, don't let her ingratitude ruin a good thing.

My ex’s primary reason for wanting a divorce was so she could have 50% of her time kid free but to also try to order me around and use me as a taxi/babysitting service during her custodial time. Once I shut that down she started getting nasty. She hauled me into court recently on BS trying to get fees and everything was tossed out.

One thing to remember, you may want a vacation and you'll need her to watch the kids.

I know these women are crazy but sometimes we gotta work within the constraints we have.

Not saying thank you or even giving a thank you gift is straight cunty of her.

My ex helped with some logistics for my last vacation and we definitely brought her some thank you gifts back.

What is your custody percentage? 50/50 is 183/182 days. If shes doing this chronically, or even a few days here and there, you can ask for a re-calc.

And as others said, next time you can say no or you can say "ill do this however would you agree to a pro-ration of this months support as I will be doing extra overnights, meals, transportation, etc?"

Send it in an email and have her reply so you have a record.

EDIT: Kids are smart and will see mom put others over them first. TIME is the ultimate commodity - she wont ever get back what she gave up and you got more (so its a win, even with the support being wonky)

Modify the MSA to say that child support is prorated on months you take the kids while she is getting her back blown out by the local NFL team.

Child support is a scam. There’s no negotiating it or anything like that. Tell your scammer no next time. You’re paying good money for her to do all that shit. Lesson learned.

Unfortunately this is one of those things that no one prepares you for. It’s something that sucks but in the end it’s not worth stressing over.

It’s not worth your mental capacity to worry about her or care if she thanks you. Enjoy your time with the kids. Don’t cut her child support, you’ll end up looking like an asshole in court.

Hopefully she would do the same for you if you needed to travel for work/vacation.

For the next trip communicate youre expectations and discuss a daily fee that you will deduct from child support should she be late.
