If you replace the word “woman” with “wife”, I would agree with you. But when evaluating the ROI with any or all women, you need to explore the entire possibility space.

Example: In the past, I rented a few hours of time from a lovely young woman with a smoking hot body. I knew her cost, up-front, no hidden fees. We had plenty of fun in bed. She was beautiful, funny, drama-free, and happy to be with me. Maybe she was pretending to be happy, but, at this point, what's the fucking difference? Is your wife honest? Do your kids lie to you? The point is, I had a great time.

So, was that a good ROI for me? Absolutely. 10/10 would do it again. In fact, I have done it again.

But marriage? 0/10 would do it again. Negative ROI.

Yes, never marrying again. I will date but splitting half your assets isn't worth it. Glad my parents convinced me to keep most of my premarital assets separated. She had the nerve to go after my inheritance from my grandparents that see never knew.

There is no difference between a woman, and a swimming pool. Compare the cost to have and maintain to the time you spend in it.... 😅

This is a really yucky way to think of other humans. Your worth, and others, is not determined by money or a score that can be quantified like this. Most of the people on this sub have been hurt very deeply, and I’m sure you’re no different, but looking at others this way seems like a barrier to healing and living a full remainder of your life.

I get it, I really do, but I would encourage you to scrap this idea and perspective on people. I would hate to think that I or others in my life form bonds because of some quantifiable ROI. That’s a financial metric, not a human one.

And even if you just mean financially, I hope your criteria for love is not a ROI. Yes, protect yourself financially in the future if that was part of your divorce, but try to do the healing that will let you form an authentic bond with someone you can love.
