Ok let’s start with why. What is the reason you care about the answer to your question? If you and your stbxw are amicable I would do everything in my power to keep it that way because it will make this whole process much easier. If she is just picking up stuff and hanging around the house watching tv or other stuff I would just let it go. Do your best to bite your tounge and think of all the $$ you’re going to save by making the divorce go that much smoother. If otoh she is being disruptive, snooping, stealing, harassing, change the locks asap and file.

Consult lawyer but yeah don’t see why she wouldn’t have a right to access the house as she pleases absent a court order to the contrary. Once you file you can reach agreement on temporary order making clear the parties’ respective rights. I would not engage in self help without consulting a lawyer bc you could then be accused of behavior in violation of her rights and she will portray you as the aggressor, vindictive, etc.

Change the locks. Until you file and request/receive exclusive use and occupancy of the home she can legally also have them changed after you do it but most likely she'll just pitch a fit and do nothing. You need to get the divorce filing going ASAP. After changing the locks move all her crap to the garage and give her a specific date/time to come pick it up but otherwise don't give her access.

My understanding is the judge will decide who gets the house during the divorce proceedings. I don’t know at what point that occurs. Maybe someone else can weigh in?

If the house is under both of your names then legally she have the rights to come and goes as she pleases.

It doesn’t require both of you to file. You guys seem to have at least talked about it so go get it started. You file the petition the longer you drag this out the longer will have to suffer with her behavior.

“We” have not yet filed? If you don’t want her coming to her own house you need to file for divorce and request exclusive use of the house.

Women get the house by filing restraining orders. That won’t work for you.

Legally, you are still married. I think she has access rights to your house until assets and liabilities are divided in a divorce. You could, of course, change the locks so she needs to allow her in.

my ex moved out and was back one day for the final load i tool the key off her car key ring. she was livid but i stood my ground and ask why she needed it, told her i didnt have a key to her place so why did you need one for mine.
