My exwife, for next marriage after ours. She was dodging the process server. So after 10 tries, her stbxh went to court and got approval to “service by certified mail”. Well, the USPS driver knocked on the door and then her dad signed for the large envelope.

I shared with my process server the details of where she lived, the car she drove, where she liked to hang out, a picture of what she looked like, and her friends.

She got served at a coffee shop (her favorite hang out). She thought this guy was hitting on her, he introduced himself, she introduced herself (first name only) and he said, wait are you "fullname", she says yes and got served.

Anyway, I know this isn't what you asked but that's how he describes it and it is hilarious. I guess the point is that the more information you can give the person, the better the chances of them being successful.

Yes! Same thing happened to me. Get the servers contact information then call him to serve when you are both home. Answer the door let him in she’s served. Don’t be nice no more games! I had to do the same. She didn’t answer the door she changed her whole schedule around but I got her

Usually there will be an affidavit by the processor that they attempted service or that they know they are knowingly being avoided. You can also serve notice by publication in a newspaper or record. There are options.

In many jurisdictions after the process server has attempted to serve the papers and is unable to, they can do "nail and mail". They attach a copy to the door and they mail a copy to residence.

The process server’s job is to get creative. Gee, she didn’t answer the door? Imagine that.

Start feeding him information about her habits, where she goes, what time she goes, etc.

Keep trying. If she's not served by the 10th, the hearing will get bumped to another date. Local rules will dictate whether you need to show up. Also, see what your options are for substituted service.
