Ex won’t sign final decree

Mine signed MSA and the Final Decree but now she doesnt want to play ball saying she signed both of them under duress. My lawyer set it up for a final Judgment, We had to give her 45 days to get a lawyer or ask for it to be postponed. Trial is set for July 8th, no idea how its going to go.

Ask your lawyer what a reasonable amount of time is and then file a motion to get it finalized. She'll probably sign just before hearing. Is MSA is signed, there really isn't anything you can do to incentivize or force it.

My now ex was dragging her feet on the MSA. The judge was going to sign it off in her absence and she decided to sign that day. There’s an updated final decree, she was judged to dangerous to be around our kid and via the trauma and threats she kept making. Kids therapist told the court she recommends zero contact. Again she won’t sign because she won’t have access (she has been near zero contact for almost a year). Not sure why, she just makes herself look worse and worse.

I had to hire a second attorney to get this finished. I discovered she’s now on the hook for half my legal fees because I was forced to re-engauge (thank you attorney, I didn’t know). You might mention that to your stubborn ex. My ex’s tab just keeps climbing.

Has she given a reason why she hasn’t signed it yet? 20 days is just three weeks. Contracts like this you routinely give 4 weeks (or one month) before you start to press for it getting finalized.

Told her it’s going to be much less in her favor if we go to trial and she signed it that day. Laid out how according to the law she’d get less money, and how she was getting a good deal, and what a judge would order. All truths by the way, I just wanted her gone. She signed.
