Feminists would defend this by saying it's like the "if I was a worm, what would you do". It isn't dealing in absolutes, and it's just some kind of imagery. (the answer is "I would put you in a little jar with dirt, and carry you everywhere")

Guys take things more literally, and so, the man vs bear debate is awful. Most bears would shred you apart and some would get scared. Most men are harmless, many will love women unconditionally, and some of them are harmful.

This is fair. A lot of males have a Dolcett fantasy about shish-kabobbing females and roasting them over an open fire.
