I recently turned 40 and as of yesterday am eligible for the covid vaccine in my state (yay!). I mentioned that at work to two college-aged female employees and they both commented that they did not think I was that old (lol). I told them my pro tip to looking young is to not have children. Not having to worry about keeping another human alive does wonders for your stress! They both laughed and said their future will be child-free as well. I love that young women have the freedom to choose their own path, not the one that’s expected of them.

Work people ask me when I’m going to have children, like they don’t complain about their children while they scream in the background of the work zoom call. A part of me wants to say ‘why??? So we can both be as unhappy as you clearly are?’ Or ‘don’t get me wrong I like children but I don’t think I could eat a whole one’ but I like my job currently more than my need to be sarcastic.

Let’s stop asking women about their reproductive choices, some women don’t have the luxury of choosing to have or not have kids.

Being childfree is probably the best decision I've ever made for my life.

I usually don't like saying that though because I feel bad for women with children, I know motherhood is extremely tough and it's hard for people to be happy for others when they are struggling.
