But seriously, being a good man is so devastatingly easy and so infrequently done. If a girlfriend stepped in and helped her boyfriend's siblings, compensated for a missing piece of the family, or picked up familial or domestic slack in some meaningful way, it would be nice but not surprising. Definitely not applauded or even unusual.
