That being said, I would only do that once I was exclusive with someone and was wanting to share my hobbies and interests with them. This is a very low effort and weird date with someone you do not know well.

Before COVID my grandparents went on walks together picking up trash as they went, but not as a date, as an act of service to the community.

I think that established couples can absolutely do community service together, and I think community service organizations are a great way to meet HVM, but those aren’t dates. Dates aren’t free and dates aren’t labor. Volunteering your time to a worthy cause is great, but don’t mix it up with a date.

After being with my LVM ex who was so incredibly self centered that I honestly think he doesn't give a shit about anyone outside his immediate circle, I decided that the next guy I date has to be the sort of person who does random acts of kindness and volunteer work.

But that guy can't be advertising it on dating sites to try to get pussy, lol. A HVM isn't going to feel the need to broadcast his good deeds. Also, picking up trash on the beach isn't a first date. It's not a date at all. Like, I do hope to do stuff like clean up a beach with my man someday but even then it's not going to be a date, lol. It's going to be a project. Would you call cleaning the house together a date?

Not as a first date. You can volunteer alone and pickup trash alone. I went to volunteer in a slum halfway across the world with coworkers I I barely knew... he can do this alone. Further into a relationship if you are both Into this it's cool but not initially. Male lurkers you should use a first date to really try to impress a woman take her somewhere really good

So this date could just be a walk on the beach and you pick up trash if you see any (which I generally do - maybe my environmentalism is showing).

Probably have to get a better handle on his personality to decide though.

Nope. I barely want to pick up my own trash in my own home, I'm def not cleaning up the world's garbage on a DATE. That's something you do with kids to teach them about serving the community, not something you do with a guy who's supposed to be trying to convince you that his presence in your life will lead to LESS labor.
