Hello! Long time lurker, first time poster here.

I have a question for all marriage-minded Queens here: how would you go about bringing up marriage in a relationship? (If at all)

On the one hand, as someone here has pointed out while discussing bringing up having children (but that can be applied to marriage as well): “You don’t want to give them the opportunity to start future faking by giving him the roadmap of how to be the person he thinks you want”, and I totally understand this point. But, at the same time, by not being upfront about it, you risk ending up wasting months (or even worse) of your life with a non committal man.

On the other hand, recently I have seen the YouTuber Mina Irfan’s strategy being mentioned a lot in here as well. For those of you who don’t know her, she basically advocates not becoming anyone’s girlfriend and dating more than one man at the same (no sex though) until one of them proposes in order to avoid becoming a forever girlfriend. If the guy asks you to become his girlfriend, she recommends saying something along the lines of “thank you so much, I like you too but I’m not looking to be somebody’s girlfriend, I’m looking for something serious”. And I guess that would weed out the majority of LVM and commitmentphobic guys, but I wonder if being this upfront wouldn’t be a turn off for a possible HVM as well.

I’d like to hear the FDS instance on this. What do you Queens think?
