Actually there have been studies done that do show a correlation between social media use and increasing rates of narcissism.

Impact of facebook addiction on narcissistic behavior and self-esteem among students

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the relationship between Facebook addiction, narcissism and self-esteem and to see if gender played any role in this equation.

Methods: The correlational study was conducted from February to March 2013 at the Department of Psychology, University of Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. Using convenient sampling, two equal groups of male and female students were enrolled from different departments of the university. Bergen Facebook Addiction Scale, Hypersensitive Narcissism Scale and Rosenberg's Self-esteem Scale were used for evaluation. SPSS 17 was used for statistical analysis.

Results: Of the 200 subjects in the study, 100(50%) each were males and females. Facebook addiction was positively correlated with narcissism(r=0.20; p<0.05) and negatively with self-esteem(r=-0.18; p<0.05). Relationship between narcissism and self-esteem was non-significant(r=0.05; p>0.05). Facebook addiction was a significant predictor of narcissistic behaviour (b=0.202; p<0.001) and low self-esteem (b=-0.18; p<0.001). There were no significant gender differences in the three variables (p>0.05 each).

Conclusions: Facebook addiction was a significant predictor of narcissistic behaviour and low levels of self-esteem among students.

The rise in technology and the development of hugely popular social networking sites, such as Facebook, further changed the way we spend our free time and communicate. Today, there are nearly 936m active Facebook users each day worldwide. Internet addiction is a new area of study in mental health and recent cross-sectional research shows that addiction to Facebook is strongly linked to narcissistic behaviour and low self-esteem.

They were able to show that there is a weak to moderate link between a certain form of narcissism and social media activity. When taking a differentiated look at specific forms of behaviour or at the participants' cultural background, the effect is even pronounced in some cases.

The point is that Facebook encourages narcissism and highlights it in people who are already narcissistic, and it can cause someone to develop more narcissistic traits in their personality, due to the focus on looks, appearance, "keeping up with the joneses" etc. How many photos of IG are photoshopped into oblivion? IG models photoshop themselves, then get plastic surgery to look more like their photoshopped selves and still photoshop themselves. This has created an army of IG clones. Girls look up to that and want to emulate it and think that's what's important. Showing off luxury items, exotic locale, cash, luxury cars, etc is de rigueur on SM - even though most of it is false and actually photoshopped. People look at that and want to also be that and think that's important. Oh The Jones went to Hawaii, well here's a picture of us in TAHITI. Sally wore THAT dress to her wedding? Well I'm going to wear an even better one! That's one aspect. the other aspect is the TIME it takes to sit on SM looking at all the people, and then taking pictures of yourself and your life constantly. Who has time to CONSTANTLY take photos of their life? Why are you taking photos of your life, instead of, you know, ENJOYING your life? Why do you need to post photos of your life on the internet?? For whom? The mindset of someone like that is highly suspect. Nothing in their empty little head except "How can I produce myself today? How can I show myself off today" Any man with that mindset is trash to me. If a man is making real estate deals all over the place, he reading through contracts, scouring the markets, making calls, etc. he doesn't have time to take selfies of his hair style every day.

Let me ask you this if I may:

When he was traveling did he invite you? If not and you thought to invite yourself did he get weird?
Did he ever “fall asleep” and miss you FaceTime calls? Did you do that?
Did you do FaceTime dinner together? Or whatever so that he might be checking to make sure you were ok?
Did he act weird upon getting home? Any changes of behavior?
Did he act odd before going? Getting a new haircut or packing his best things?

Lost of Q goes on, but I do wonder if you sort of noticed a change in him.

I honestly know I’m right about cheating men and honestly cheating women. We can agree to disagree, if he cheated you were not given his full attention and some part of you must have e picked up on that.

Maybe not.

Edit: 6. When he got home did he because sexually distant? Did he become more into it? Did he have any new moves in the bedroom?
