I'm glad the consensus here is that this isn't funny or light hearted. People try to say I'm over reacting but I'm not. I'm allowed to have my own standards lmfao. I checked out her website.

I don't believe the comic was meant to be a criticism of male behavior, but as someone pointed out earlier a "cutesy" look at relationships. Sigh. Her entire website is devoted to comics about video games and her "partner" Stef. She gives him credit for half of what she does. She needs an FDS rescue mission.

God why do men hate it when we love them??? My ex was like this too. Whenever I’m lovey dovey, he’d go around and punish me for it.

Whenever I’d say stuff like “I can’t live without you” (yuck, I know), he’d go “WhAt AbOuT oXyGeN???” as if it was some super funny George Carlin level joke. Ugh just fuck off. He’d never say it back btw, ofc why would he.

The minute I put on my cold bitch mask, he would come back running. What????

That’s the biggest clue as to why we have to continue to make them chase us. Even when we’re in a relationship or married.

Also it’s pathetic that she tolerates that.

l don’t buy “just a joke/meme”, as if they’re harmless and have 0 influence. Why the f do we think political cartoons exist? Humor is a powerful tool containing a grain of truth that can serve to perpetuate a narrative or normalize a behavior. I ask “What is the motive for the joke? What personal truth would move someone to laugh at the joke?”
