Ladies, ladies, ladies. Thank you for all the posts you make, the laughs I get from them have given me life the past four months since I stumbled onto this subreddit.

My first post on Reddit was on another subreddit last October this is a shortened version:

I didn’t know my husband had a porn addiction and I discovered it three weeks ago. I looked at his google photo archive and found photos photos of a coworker he had taken on the sly and had screenshotted from her Instagram and from snapchat conversations. He apparently had such low self esteem that a few compliments from her is what made him notice her in the first place. That and her fake tits. He suppressed everything. How the job was really affecting him and his addiction. And then it manifested into this. He only snapped with her a few weeks but would still DM her about random things on Insta and had stopped going to see her in her building where she works as often. He said it started off as wanting a new friendship because he felt lonely during the long shifts but that it evolved into this. (ADDITION: f*ck him I was alone during those shifts and I didn’t go stalk people).

THE LIES HE FED ME LADIES.

And how badly I wanted to believe him. I’d known him since high school. It was hard to let go. But so many things happened after that. His parents attacking me after hearing me call him a piece of shit and using me as a scapegoat forever after since I couldn’t immediately forgive their baby boy. Losing my self esteem. Hating other women without reason. High anxiety Always feeling on edge Moving states again Finding out he had relapsed even before we had moved for our “fresh start” (3 months later). All the gaslighting, lying and feeling crazy. Something in me snapped when I found out about the relapse.

I realized I couldn’t live like that anymore. That I deserved to be happy again That’s staying with him just because I was afraid of being alone was stupid. As we say in my culture “Es mejor estar sola que mal acompañada” It’s better to be alone, than to be in bad company.

This subreddit helped me get there during my separation. It helped me realize the red flags I missed, the things I let slide and what I can’t let happen again.

Stay woke ladies. FDS!
