Yep. I train in a contact sport that includes boxing and grappling, and I know that a guy even roughly my own size can fairly easily overpower me. The only thing that saves me is speed. It’s humbling.

The fight is not equal at all. It’s so telling that the first thing that pops into their head is “hitting women.” If I had a dollar for everything I’ve had a guy “that means I can hit women, checkmate femnazi!1!1!1”

Also, people edit videos sometimes. My ex used to try and record me and set me up to hit him. I think he was looking for a reason to full on beat me up or kill me. He'd walk into the kitchen and restrain me from behind when I was using a knife to chop vegetables/prepare dinner. He'd then be hurting me and throwing me around, throw me into furniture/shelves, then he would say it was self defence because "look, she's got a knife!". So if I saw a video where a woman hits a man at the start, I'd be wondering if he'd already been hitting her and just edited it to make it look like she initiated.

My exs attitude was "I'll hit you first and if you do anything back then I get to hit you 5x more because you deserve it. If you refuse to hit me back then I will just make it look like you did and do some more anyway, or I'll just flat out lie and say that you hit me and I never laid a hand on you before or after"

The only time a man could hit a woman is if he was absolutely cornered and feared for his life, maybe she has a weapon or he's very small etc. Self defence is okay obviously. But psychos try to push anything as self defence. If someone slaps/hits you and you have the ability to move away and they are not continuing to do it, turning back around and punching them is NOT self defence, it's retaliation/revenge, it has nothing to do with self defence. Self defence is to protect you from being further physically harmed, self defence doesn't cover beating someone because they hit you once and it really pissed you off. I don't condone anyone hitting anybody, but if a stupid woman hits a man and it's not self defence, like she has zero right to be doing that, the man still has no right to go at her and beat her. Not unless she was genuinely waving a gun or knife/other weapon at him and he had to tackle her or knock her out to avoid being seriously harmed. He'd have to be in serious imminent danger. A woman hitting him once in a place where he can easily move away is NOT grounds for hitting someone back or beating them up. It's grounds for calling the police and filing charges.
