I was 7 when my brother first got married, and we are of south asian backround so our weddings are not only large and dramatic as hell, but also take up more than one day (his was the entire thanksgiving weekend)I asked myself then "Do I want a wedding like this? This is way too much."

Then growing up I thought I wanted the whole white dress, throwing bouquet wedding that I see in movies and tv.

But I don't know how I feel about weddings anymore and if they are worth it. I don't want to invite 95% of my family members because they are toxic as hell. This also includes my brothers now ex-wife who emotionally abused all of us in our household when she moved in after the marriage.

On top of that... I don't have a large group of girlfriends who know eachother or would even get along... so the idea of bridesmaids makes my anxiety rise.

I watch these youtube videos of these BIG ASS weddings and a few years later... the couple is getting divorced. I remember reading about a statistic that the larger and more expensive your wedding is... the more likely the marriage is going to fail. Idk how true that is but I can def see that nowadays.

So I'm so back and forth with wanting a wedding one day whenever I get married. I thought maybe its better it put it towards the honeymoon and other finances but I would love to hear some of your guy's thoughts and experiences with this.
