This can also include:

Telling you how much he would love for you to meet his family/friends but you don't (or he introduces you by your name and not as his partner).

Talking about how he hasn't thought about marriage before but 'can see himself settling down with you' and yet no plans occur.

Speaks about a future wedding and how happy his family will be and yet seemingly forgets the next day.

Talks about the future but they always have a catch ie "you'd be the type of girl I'd like to marry and have kids with" next minute "I plan on living in Tokyo/I want to live in a van".

Now all of these can be actual things a normal person can say. Maybe they do want to live in Tokyo and have a family. But if your gut picks up on inconsistencies ESPECIALLY if you want to justify it, I'd be getting out of there.

Lots of people say one thing drunk/horny and then the next day it is their excuse. They got all the good feels in (them in the ideal marriage/kids/vacations together) without having to commit to the hard work. And the perfect cop out line "I was drunk!" etc.

Notice patterns and guard your heart.

fact: do not go for potentiality when you can go for reality.

he says he will get that promotion and that the two of you will go to the Caribbean and have a blast!? but first, he wants sex from you. don't put much faith into it unless he gets that promotion and actually buys the tickets to the Caribbean. then you decide whether you actually want to have sex with them or not.

I swear, I could make a 4-hour movie consisting only of the lies that men told me just to get in my pants. don't take the bait, please!

Don't let ANYONE who does this get to close to you. Women friends do this, too! Act like you're bestest besties after a few interactions, overshare tons of stuff, offer a ton of future help and suggest all sorts of future outings - these people will leave after sucking you dry emotionally.

I had this happen recently but it was with a guy I just met. He’s in his 30s, I’m 21... he was wealthy but made the most outlandish promises & then a week after said “you know women who are serious about a guy & don’t have other men, give house keys to the guy their seeing” LMAO WHAT? Then saying he was going to buy the furniture that I’m missing in my apartment, and how he wants to move me to a better place (mind you he has no idea where I live).. after i first date he insisted I show him where I live & when I told him no he was like “oh you must have other men” ... I know some young chick has fallen for that predatory nonsense before..

This triggered me so damn much smh😠I swear I didn't even know that "future faking" was an actual thing until I found FDS.I just remember feeling anxious and not knowing the word for what he was doing .I was never shown anything solid and was always gaslit when i pressed the issue .I blame myself for not blocking at my first gut feeling that it was all lies and manipulation.🤡All talk no effort.

Question: is it possible that he does it without intentionally being harmful like he does want this in the moment but he will never actually make it happen?

I've had guys think when meeting me that after all they wanted kids and to get married even though it's not something they wanted before and they seemed to pathetic too be calculating narcissists.

Edit: Not defending them by the way, just trying to recognize their many forms.
