I went on a date with a guy and before I went, I said to myself that I just wanted to be friends, that i was tired of/uninterested in dating, and that it would just be a one time dinner thing.

After a dinner where he paid and two "hangouts," I've decided that I really enjoy spending time with this guy. He's appropriately aged (21 to my 20), going to school, hard-working, wants to move away from where we currently live, polite & respectful.

He thinks I'm attractive and compliments me frequently in a very respectful way, he tells me all the time that I fascinate him and he finds so many things about me interesting/appealing.

One of these things that he finds interesting about me is that fact that I don't drink. When we spend time together, he usually is drinking a beer, but I really don't mind because he doesn't try to get me to drink/pressure me in any way. Last night, we were laying on this rooftop listening to music and just talking while looking up at the stars, and he told me he looked up a non-alcoholic beer so that I could try something he likes, while still respecting my choice not to drink. He sent me a picture today and he drove all over the city we live in to find me non-alcoholic beer for when we hangout tomorrow night.

For some reason, I just thought it was so sweet of him. He thought about me, wanting to have an experience to share with me, and went out of his way to make that experience a reality.

The thing that gets to me as a former Pickmeisha™ is that we haven't kissed. We haven't even hugged or held hands. I haven't made him food or written a paper for him, all I've done is show up and spend time with him, and he just likes me for me. He does nice things for me because he likes me. It's just hard to wrap my head around.
