And I finally put the pieces together to realize he ALWAYS gets mad at me if I simply disagree with him in any. way.

It doesn’t matter how small the topic is. If I’m saying, “but what about __” he loses his damn mind. Today he abruptly left a conference call when a coworker and I were asking for clarification on why we should do something that was against our typical policy. Whenever this coworker (another strong woman) and I are both disagreeing with him, he calls it “ganging up” on him.

We literally never raise our voices. We use gentle tones when we know we’re opposing him. We avoid conflict with him up until there’s something either of us simply can’t just let go. And yet WE’RE THE BITCHES.

I’m sick of it. It makes me feel ill. He’s made me cry so many times from frustration, and from the way he makes me feel like the bad guy. I blame myself for his behavior far too much.

I’ve talked to him about it personally. I’ve talked to my head bosses TWICE now. And I am still made to feel like I am the one who needs to be doing something different.

I know this isn’t about dating, but it’s about sexism, and dealing with a big man child who can’t be bothered to listen to a woman express her opinion. And can’t treat a woman like just any other employee. And victim blaming. He’s in his 40s and single (BIG SURPRISE). I’m in my 20s and happily single.

Some tips for emotionally dealing with this type of behavior (and not blaming myself) would be magical, as I have to work with him tomorrow night. I’ve already considered calling in sick.
