They cherry-pick which parts they want to follow.
The Bible as a whole, especially the New Testament, doesn't tolerate sexual misbehavior from anyone. We can argue about how it was then and how patriarchal it was back when the Bible was written—and it was. I wouldn't want to be a woman in that culture back then. But there are churches today who do teach men to behave better.
It only works when both men and women are held to the same standard. I cannot stand so-called "Christian" men who think the rules only apply to women but not themselves.
If you are raised with higher expectations and there are consequences when you don't, surprise! People tend to behave better. Men are capable of better behavior when there are enough societal pressures and stigmas.

Men were allowed to have as many women as they could afford in the Mosaic Law, and the OT patriarchs were almost exclusively polygamists. Adultery in the Mosaic Law, which views women as property, means to have sex with another man’s property-wife. It is a property crime against the husband of the cheating woman. In other words, the only “sin” is for married women to cheat.
I mean, modern Christians and Jews can believe whatever they want, and I don’t believe or support any of this patriarchal shit, but if you read the Old Testament it’s pretty clear that men having multiple wives and concubines was not considered “adultery”.
The patriarch Judah even had sex with a prostitute and then ordered his own daughter in law to be burned to death for prostitution just a few months after that. (His daughter in law was the same prostitute he banged and didn’t realize it was her. So apparently they despised women so much they didn’t even look at their face while fucking them?)
