I think many rich men throw money at women to try to show "effort" but it is simply to get in your pants. You decide what is priceless to you, and if he went above and beyond. Men who listen, and understand your likes and dislike are more important than someone who spend 400 dollars on you. Like if someone took me to a batman convention, it would mean more to me than someone taking me to a 200 dollar a plate restaurant. I deem my likes and interest more important than something expensive.

I say to women here start to set your ideals on standards, and going above and beyond. Money for some men is like dropping a crumb into a pond. Don't think money is worth to them, if they have more than enough 400 for a 6 figure + plan is like 60 dollars for a 40,000 a day man.

Dates are about feeling comfortable and vetting, not about getting someone to spend $400 on your date.

The rule of thumb is to not go anywhere you cannot afford. Always be able to pay for yourself if you need to leave. Although we advocate for dinner dates, a good first date could be somewhere where you have the chance of quickly leaving if things go south.

There have been stories of men paying $200 and then getting upset that the girl didn’t sleep with them. Dates are not about money.

ETA: “dates are not about money” = don’t automatically assume that someone who blows money on you is HV and is interested in you. Thought and effort into a date is much better. A well planned out date at your favourite restaurant for $70 is much better than a $200 date at a random place you don’t like with a guy who doesn’t care about your tastes. Obviously, if the $200 date is at your favourite restaurant, by all means, go for it! Happy dating.

This varies a LOT based upon where you live. Major cities and small towns aside, the coasts and the Midwest vary dramatically. There’s only one restaurant in my city where you could maybe spend $200 without alcohol. (And we know drinking on a first date is generally unwise). And I don’t want to go there often let alone for every first date. We used to have an AMAZING sushi restaurant with a true Japanese chef a mile from my house and even ordering two kinds of rolls per person we never exceeded $80 for two people. I was so sad when he retied.

I always let him suggest /plan the restaurant or event. I make sure to lookup the restaurant before hand so I know its a classier place and not in a bad neighborhood.

On dates I make sure to order an actual drink not just water and I will have him get us an appetizer and I usually order steak or a seafood dinner because they are pricier. I usually can tell of the man is cheaper by seeing how he reacts to what I order and also seeing what he orders.

The bar needs to be set high from the first date. Don't be ordering one of the cheapest plates. Order something pricier you want to set the bar high for the rest of the relationship.

$200 is a reasonable amount for a man to spend on a date with a stranger . If men don’t have that then they should not date, or take up some jobs. By the way, this doesn’t include gas 😂.

I used to be an awful pick-me and thought that just spending time with the dude was enough hahaha. It got to the point where a guy accused me of being a gold digger after paying for a ball and frisbee at the dollar store for our park date (woof 🐶 😂). After that, I seriously judge a guy on how much he spends on the first date.

The price of the date is essential for me. In my experience any date that has been a throwaway type place (I.e a restaurant but not an expensive and thoughtful one) has been an awful date. For instance I went on some dates with a veryyy wealthy man so of course he took me Michelin star/high end restaurants BUT he also made sure it was the cuisines I loved, and made it very special. So it’s a bit of both, money but also asking what kind of food you like and the type of restaurants you like etc. Also let him impress you that’s the point. We’re the prize who cares how much he spends that’s his problem to arrange his finances etc. I haven’t even kissed the guy and been on 4 dates where he’s payed around 300-500 pounds (400-600 USD) per date. Yes he has the money but each place has been thoughtful. And he’s not even in the forefront of my mind coz I have a roster lol, I’m letting himself prove himself. He might drop off after realising I’m not going to just kiss him so soon etc. But then have I really lost out, I had insane experiences that honestly I cannot afford as much (maybe once a year!). That’s why dating like this is better. When you go on a dusty date you waste a lot of time and money , getting ready etc to end up having the same experience you could have with a female friend and would have an even better time lol. Dating has to be beneficial for me otherwise I have friends etc

yeah, the math is good... but if the man is plating 20 women... do you think he has the finances for it?

men paying separate the "I'm here only for free sex okay" versus "I want to know you better because I want a relationship with you".

I think it always depends but I am only interested in going to the very best places mostly. For me that is a fun experience. My birthday dinner cost $700 for two people.
