If I had a nickel for the number of times I explained to a male friend that being good at socializing/communicating takes practice, I'd have a whole other career.

On the other side, a lot of men think being social is literally talking over every single person in the room, only feeling their opinions are valid, dismissing every contribution from another party (especially women) and never asking someone a single question that doesn’t turn into a segue for them to continue talking about themselves.

Yes. I dated a guy who seemed to think that conversations had winners and losers.
He’d describe conversations he’d had, telling me things like ‘And he had NO COMEBACK!’ as though stumping someone conversationally or having them edge away uncomfortably made him a boss.

And those are also the ones who complain constantly or try to one-up someone else's misery or success. I work with a guy who has made it has mission in life to have a pissing contest with me over every word that comes out of my mouth.

They turn every conversation into a dick measuring contest, it is so annoying.

Expects his hypothetical girlfriend to be extremely fit and hot but does nothing to make himself fit and hot. Then tells himself women only reject him because they’re shallow, even though he would never date a female version of himself.

I would add: treats women he dates like trash and tries to FWB them with horrible pickup lines instead of taking them on a real date, then wonders why no one want to fuck/date him.

I don't get why they're so sensitive to rejection. They act like no is the worst possible thing to hear.

Gamers mostly hangs out with other men so they never had a chance to talk to a real woman.
Plus the only women they talk to are NPCs.

Add that hes "sarcastic" and "joking" but its actually schrodingers douchebag, or that hes racist, unemployed / broke, still lives with parents and has no means of transportation. All of these things and the self pity "why can't I find a girl? Why won't she give me a chance?!"

I used to sympathize with men who complained about not being able to get dates because “women’s standards are just too high!” But now I’m realizing just how little effort most of these men actually put in to making themselves a more attractive partner, rather than just whining. Too many of them think that going to the gym a few times, washing their face, and shaving their balls is “doing the most.” It’s hard to empathize with this because personally, I’ve grown up in the knowledge that society will value me largely based on my appearance. I, as well as most other women, have suffered for this. I’ve had crippling insecurity and have been borderline dysmorphic about certain features ever since elementary school when I first became socially aware. I’ve also had an eating disorder in the past and even now there’s some amount of guilt around pretty much every meal, and I have reason to believe my sister and several female friends have experienced/ are experiencing the same. I’ve spent thousands of dollars and countless hours on personal upkeep. My story is far from unique among women, and while some men also suffer from these things, the magnitude is much larger for women. Many even resort to plastic surgery to fit the ideal. Men may look at this and conclude that women are just more shallow— but they haven’t had the experience of living as a woman and internalizing this idea (even unconsciously) that your worth as a human being is largely tied to how you look. Women have been complaining about this for ages, but the response has mostly been “lol men are just visual, we like [insert trendy body of the decade] and that’s just how it is. “🤷♂️ So, when men now complain about women just expect soooo much (while putting in only half-efforts to meet those standards), it feels like... welcome to the club. Sucks, doesn’t it?
