I work as a Teller and I always get hit on by men wanting to grab dinner or drinks. More than usual lately because Covid has made everyone horny, it seems. I tell those men that it's against company policy to date a member of where I work. I get nothing but a blank stare. They still persist. However, the moment I tell them that I have a boyfriend, they usually back off and if they still can't take no for answer, then they can talk to the security guard.

I'm not a man's property and my title isn't solely "Girlfriend" or "Wife." I'm my own person, an individual. It's so annoying that I have to resort to talking about my fake boyfriend for them to take me seriously. No means no the first time.

This reminds me of an encounter recently. I was out of town and staying at a hotel. I wanted to get fresh air at night (windows barely open in room) and it was a little late, but I didn’t think I would have an issue in front of the lobby in the patio area. Well, a young male on the phone sees me walk out of the lobby (I’m mid 30s but look younger) and he follows me outside. I stop and he continues to walk up to me (during covid) and says “young lady excuse me” and then I give this look and he goes “YOU ACT LIKE YOU DON’T WANT ME TALK TO YOU ?!” He seemed so offended and baffled that I didn’t want to talk to this boy who is overweight, sloppy and rudely bothering a stranger? I knew he was going to be argumentative because he was getting a little amped. In college one of my coworkers used the response, “No thanks, I’m working on someone.” Which I just fell in love with, and started using. It’s nice because it tells them no, while seizing the concept of power within a relationship away from them. They’re not used to women being active pursuers, just passive, so it throws them off. Then whenever they start asking questions I just describe basically my ideal guy, say we met at the gym so I’ve basically seen ‘the goods’ already so I know it’s worth it. Sometimes I try to overshare like I’m talking to one of my girlfriends and hope his eyes glaze over. Literally, minutes. I’ll get waaayyy too into the story and just ham it up. Once I’m deemed “boring” or “a bimbo” they can fuck off a lot more easily.

I know the concepts go against FDS principals, but I seriously LOVE seeing the hamster falling off the wheel in the guy’s brain. There’s really nothing better. It also disarms the usual anger response in most cases, as well.
