First of all, thanks to the FDS podcast for keeping me up to date on the latest dick diseases. So, I Googled this and noticed something interesting. The causes are often stated to be "unknown," but the most popular theory is repeated dick trauma. What I find fascinating is the frequent mention of "sports," "vigorous sex" or even "pressure from a partner's pubic bone." Examples like this are everywhere, i.e. "This type of [minor injury] is most often caused by vigorous sex." Now, It would be one thing if the term "vigorous sexual activity" were used (as some correctly do), as this would technically include masturbation. However, most often, listed examples only include sex.

I had to Google "can masturbation cause Peyronie's disease" to find a direct acknowledgement of it. Yet still, some insist that, while the cause may be unknown, the one thing we know for sure is that it isn't caused by watching porn for hours straight and beating your dick like it owes you money!

I'm no M.D., but it sure seems like scar tissue resulting from vigorous sex could also result from masturbation. In fact, masturbation seems like the most likely cause, given that "vigor" is limited by another partner's tolerance. It also seems like this might be a useful tidbit of information that, despite potential harm to a man's ego, might be good for men to know. This is as opposed to, you know, telling him that what actually happened is he fucked too hard and that's what bent his dick. I mean, buddy, you're just too awesome! Not only is trauma-induced Peyronie's Disease not your fault, but it's probably your partner's weird pelvis!

Sometimes it's the little things that I appreciate. Other times, it's the little things that piss me off.
