To be honest, I really don’t like it when the person I’m going to meet comes off as insecure so a big X for both of you I guess.

His texts sound vaguely passive aggressive to me, like he wants you to feel bad for him. It might not be a terrible date, but that’s a trait that might carry over into his personal relationships.

He might not have much game but if a guy said “you might not like me” I’d get bad vibes too. Maybe he didn’t know what to say? He definitely wants to say something you’d want to hear.

I know what you are doing, I’m just telling you to stop!! Being sassy is a lot better. Hit him with a light joke, some light flirts, never make yourself seem under. I used to do this too and my ex got overly confident and arrogant. He thought he could stop liking me at any time.

So now I do the opposite: “everyone likes me if I want them to” / “I don’t fall in love easy at all, it takes a bit of effort” /etc. But keep onto the fine line, seem playful but sweet. Caring and warm yet able to drop him if he doesn’t suffice. Always with a warm smile.

Also, keep texts to a minimum. Video/audio calling is a lot better if you haven’t met face to face. You gauge more from it.

This is an insecure man. He's going to be like this even if you fell madly in love with him. I used to get "why do you even like me?" texts from my unattractive ex even after we'd been together awhile. I didn't love him for his looks and gross body, I loved how much we laughed together and the awesome sex. He never trusted why I was with him and got nastier and nastier about it until I bounced.
