whenever a man requests you to join him, he should pay.

if he doesn't understand why, frame it to him like this: "if i pay for myself, why wouldn't i just (eat here/travel here/whatever it is) alone?"

if he doesn't understand that, #bye

I’ve been on trips and I’ve never paid for them. I’d grab dinner occasionally on the trip. Did you ask him how much it would be to see if he will cover most of it ?

Do you even think you'll still be together in 5 months? Don't put any money down now. And tagging along on something he already had planned with his friends... Sounds awkward.

Side note: Story time. A man wanted me to come visit him in another country. Said he'd pay for my plane ticket, reimburse me. Lol! As you can guess that never happened. Plus I had to spend money while I was there for some of the things that we did. Don't do this! You have no money beyond paying for dinner or entry a few times, if that.

You shouldn't be going on a trip with a guy you just met and he's doing something called "future faking" where you are supposed to swoon and think he's serious because he's already planning the future and including you in his life. Prepare to be used for the next five months. And if you do make it that far he can buy you a round trip ticket that you confirm with the airline

If it were me I would pay for myself, but I’m financially independent and don’t expect someone else to pay my way. I don’t like being indebted to other people. I would feel obligated to return the financial favour.

I would definitely not expect or ask a brand new boyfriend to pay for me unless the following: -His work or someone else is paying for his trip -He’s paying for others to go -My going is for his benefit -He offered to pay

I’ve never been in such a relationship, but if you’re accustomed to him paying for everything then it could also be expected he would pay for your trip.

Edit: also I would assume be invited you to include you, so you knew you had the option to join.
