This is sadly an extremely common trend in the parenting and baby subreddits.

It’s typically a post about how physically and mentally exhausting it is to have a baby, and how much of a piece of shit their husbands are.

LVM have been DM'ing me since I'm active in this group, saying I'm a spoiled undeserving brat.

Excuse me.

But if a man can't afford to date me, he can't afford children. If a man doesn't think I deserve pampering now, unconditional of titles, sex or keeping score, he will not pamper me when I'm cleaning diapers at 3am. No consistent effort for romance and generous caring treatment now, means even less effort when we're tired from rearing kids.

I'm sure this man was not HVM even before they got kids. She just married and had babies for potential that will never arrive.

This woman's life is exactly the nightmare to avoid...

My son had rotavirus when he was a baby, which he then gave to me. He was 3 months old so still exclusively breast fed. I was having to feed him whilst both he and I were being sick. And rushing to the bathroom/changing nappies. I couldn't keep anything down. I was exhausted. I said to my husband "I literally don't think I've ever been more dehydrated - I need a drink". His response was "yeah... I'm pretty thirsty to be honest - can you get me a pint of juice if you're going to the kitchen?". Stupid put upon me did it as well - should have poured it over his fucking head.

Fuck women in this situations have to give the baby to the husband and just leave the fuck off to do their own stuff. So that men can finally start appreciating what she does every day without any gratitude.

They actually think that chilling in the office for 8 hours a day is harder than staying at home isolated, cooking, cleaning, depriving yourself of sleep to take care of the baby, grocery shopping and all while being dependant on the mercy of the husband who is the motherfucking breadwinner bringing money that he has the audacity to call "his"

At this point it's not even LVM. Just stop having babies with men. Go solo with a sperm bank if you really want a kid so badly.

And we still have this damaging mentality of how a baby only needs its mom, so men get a free pass to not bother with the kid they said they wanted. Meanwhile women are saddled with all the childcare work.

No wonder women are putting off having kids or not having them. There's nothing rewarding about wrecking your body, wrecking your career and your mental state; meanwhile, man just goes on like nothing happened, maybe even cheats and accuses her of letting herself go or ignoring him.

Honestly, it is unacceptable to not have a second car and keep your partner trapped and isolated at home. Like, abusive. If he is working, he needs to buy himself a $3k beater car and give her the safe car, so she can start meeting her practical and emotional needs during the day (he should or course help but gawd I couldn't imagine being confined all day with a baby).

She gets up 3-4x an hour to sooth her son?? How old is he? Even brand-new newborns should be sleeping at least 2 straight hours. Idk it's really sad and I was in a similar situation so I am not trying to be combative but an ally to women who live this... but I can see where this woman can make changes (should've made them at the beginning) which would improve her experience dramatically... even with an LVM father.

Here are some I can think of:

require this LVM to change all diapers when he's home. When he's home, you're off duty.
make an excuse one day to drive him to work to use the car, then do it EVERY DAY. Until he realizes he needs to get you your own car.
respectfully sleep train the damn kid and don't fall for the BS "Attachment Parenting" crap that is straight from the patriarchy and exactly for the purpose of draining mom's and making them feel inadequate.
