All my boyfriends were gamers and it's never an issue at first. But once they feel safe in the relationship and know you're not going anywhere, you can bet they'll choose their games over you.

Then complain women are vapid and vain for spending too much time on social media or reading or something else equally "boring". Bro, you're not an intellectual for screaming into a headset and pushing buttons...

I'm in the UK and still a problem here. Don't get me started on computer games. I didn't realise the extent of the problem until my ex. His friend group from school were all 'gamers'. Funny how he hid this from me the first few months we went out. Then you get so much stick from men & pickmes if you criticise their obsession / addiction. It'S jUsT a HoBbY! Do you ever hear of these bfs / husbands going back to reasonable gaming use when their partner complains? If they won't moderate it themselves then ofc they're not gonna listen to their partner!

Won't tolerate 'gamers' now. Pass.

I am a WoW player. (a) it is horrendously addictive, and (b) men who play it regularly are almost invariably also porn addicts and just boring company.

It was fun for escapism when we were locked in our houses for weeks on end, but sheesh, scroteous man, put down raid night and interact with the naked woman right behind you.

I always have to laugh at the comments in relationship subreddits. Every other comment is about how they must “communicate” better. The OP said he communicated his feelings various times and nothing has been done. Your partner should not continuously ignore your concerns. That’s not a loving or caring partner.

And LOL at all the “well be happy this is how he’s dealing with covid stress.” So OP should be happy he’s “only” being ignored repeatedly for a game? That’s pathetic.

Am I the only one who sees gaming as a huge red flag/potential deal breaker? I had an ex who was into gaming (all consoles). I used to get him gift cards for games too 🤢

I think it’d be okay if they play it in moderation but any guy I’ve dated who liked gaming was always obsessed with it. With another ex, I remember one Saturday night I had planned this fun at home pizza night, I made homemade dough and prepped all the ingredients for DIY pizzas. Afterwards I thought we were going to watch a movie, and he told me he wanted to go home and play fortnight. Dumped him the following week 🤗

I used to be addicted to WoW. That game is a time sink like no other. I feel bad for the OP and my advice to him would be to break up with his boyfriend. Nobody should prioritize a video game over their partner.
