I've been single for a few months. This sub reddit has been supportive, I've been attending a CoDA meeting and going to counseling and I noticed a shift:

  • I no longer idealize relationships.
  • When I see attractive men I no longer "wonder" what itd be like to date them.
  • I no longer long for or dream about falling in love. I no longer crave the from behind hugs and all the other cutsie stuff.
  • I dont even want to entertain men. In fact I have no time for it.
  • I've set my standards so high and am perfectly fine being single if they're never met.

And let me tell you ladies, this feels empowering. Queen life💅💅💅

Edit: Instead of fantasizing about relationships with men I crave building community and a sisterhood of women. And that shit will outlast any man's affections, ten fold.

Edit- CoDA is short for Co Dependancy Anonymous. It's a 12 step program like AA or NA but there are a lot of young people so theres a lot of open mindedness surrounding the concept of a higher power.
