FDS’s often gets branded words such as gold diggers, shallow and conservative for expecting a man to show effort. People throw these terms at us because they want us to feel bad for knowing our worth. A way to deal with this, and with the other naysayers in your life who say you’re too demanding for having standards, is to respond with “so what?”

So what if I wait to find out if a man is worth sleeping with?

So what if I want a man who makes six figures?

So what if I want to date a guy over 6ft?

So what if I want to be taken out to dinner?

So what if I expect men to pay for said dinner?

When I’ve employed this tactic, I’ve often found that the conversation dies instantly. Because the people attacking you are often projecting their insecurities onto you. In addition, they often can’t tell you why they think your standards and expectations are unreasonable. When they see that you’re unbothered, they’ll drop the conversation and move on. A Queen does not need to waste her time explaining herself to people who are committed to misunderstanding her.
