There are nefarious actors out in the world. Women vet so that we can avoid men that do not have our best interests at heart. It isn’t “playing games” when we just want to know that a man isn’t trying to use us for sex and emotional labor. We go in with good intentions.

By contrast, a sizeable percentage of men play games to see how lazy/ cheap they can be and still get sex and/or the girlfriend experience.

This is why we need to throw out the term “double standard”. Instead, begin to see that this is context dependent.

Also, men love games. Sports, much? Video games, much?

And why is it so bad to make a man “jump through hoops”? It shows that he is athletic and eager to please.

Language matters. Use accordingly.
