Never used it because women have to write first.

And because my male co-workers all recommend it to each other with the slogan "It's great, because the girls have to come to you and you can just sit back and relax!" (At lunch 3 weeks ago, international team from all over the world).

Basically it's the same dudes as on Tinder but lazier.

Stopped using it because men swipe right on every single woman and then just don't respond to messages. In fact I'm finding this on every platform - men will swipe right on anyone and everyone and may respond to my first couple messages for the ego boost, but there's just no way to tell if they're interested because their main priority is "keeping their options open" so they're more likely to get sex from one of their matches (doesn't matter who, as long as it's a warm body to put their penis in). I have been the pursuer in every single one of my relationships and I want to be pursued for once.

If you match with a guy, don't ever message him unless he uses his daily extend to keep the match for another 24 hours.

Also, if he hasn't verified his profile, send an automated message requesting him to get his profile verified, then he can message you first.

Great way of weeding out the uninterested men.

I don't date online anymore but when I did, I hated Bumble. I started figuring out that men put less effort into women who pursue them and that seems to be the idea that Bumble is based on with women having to write first.

I’ve had it for a little over two weeks and feel the same, why wouldn’t a guy have a profile? They don’t have to do anything. At least half of the guys I wave to or message delete it w/o responding, the other half just half ass answer but show no real interest. Just an ego boost for them and nothing more.

There's a lot of hate towards Bumble on this thread, so I would just like to add that I feel neutrally about it.

Is women making the first move great? No, but it's literally one message, not an actual role reversal. I'm not sure why people make such a big deal out of it. It's not like you have to start planning dates and courting the guy, sending him flowers, taking him out to dinner, etc. You just send your one message and sit back and see if he makes an effort.

I also like that it gives more specific information than any other dating app that I've tried.

It is still full of douchebags because that's generally characteristic of the given population. However, I have met some guys from there that were serious.

No women should be taking online dating that seriously or believing what men say on an app. (As we know, it extends well beyond that in real life too.)

It was awful and I had no idea they could call you directly on it! I was shook and disgusted by the reptile that had the balls to video call me 🤮 he was drunk and arrogant; shut him down in 10 seconds flat. Never again. At least tinder keeps you safe in that respect.

I use bumble because I don’t want to be bombarded by people so I feel like I have control. I also haven’t even tried any other app. (Tinder sounds like a monster)

OLD is good for practicing communication skills, finding what I like in people, increasing my standards, finding strategies on standing firm about not dating with my heart on the sleeve (practice makes perfect). It should not be the only method of dating.

Word to the wise: the same men that are on Tinder are on Bumble. I happened to be using the two apps simultaneously about three years ago, and saw several male acquaintances on both. The following is an actual quote from one of these dudes talking to his friend who was asking about the apps, since the friend was in the process of divorcing his wife and of course, on the market for newer models. I was, fortunately or unfortunately, standing close enough to hear:
LVM #764562F (Frat Boy edition): "...so you get fewer matches on Bumble bro, but you have a *better chance of getting to smash.*"

This same man was also vocally anti-abortion. /end scene
