I was tempted to make a long post with detail about a specific person and situation in my life, but then I realised I can really distil it down into this one question.

They have options with men. And even in terms of friendship, they don't have to chase. They're not always texting first, etc.

Is it only looks based?

I think people are going to answer with HVW but it seems like something more. Like I could do all the things a HVW is supposed to do and still not have it.

The woman I'm thinking of in particular is a former friend who has the guy I liked, has more attention from my friends than me, and is considered attractive despite the fact that she does not shower and you can smell her from a 2 metre radius. I really cannot overstate how strong this BO is, being her friend it was just something I got used to. Her hair is often greasy, too. Men on here always say hygiene is a deal breaker.
