My dad was never a Casanova or anything (he's actually kind of a social recluse) but when he turned 40 he says he was straight up like, "Whelp, guess it's high time I start a family!" He located my mother's desperate cradle to rob (she's 14 years his junior and had a 3 year old from a previous marriage to a NVM that had to be annulled when it came to light that he was already married in another state) and they popped out a bunch of kids in quick succession (5 in 8 years). He kept trying to "subtly" leave her in the guise of doing shit like taking a job 3 states away and then deciding he wanted to go back to college to get his PhD on the other side of the freaking country. She's a massive PickMe so she kept following him when he'd been "secretly" hoping she'd stay put in her home state. It was only after she'd actually followed him all the way cross country with their hoard of children in tow, separated from all her friends and family, that she finally got the message and they split up. Still didn't officially divorce for like another 15 years though. Shit's bananas.

I have a former FWB who just turned 40 and he's pulling that same type of shit. Now he wants to get married and have kids. Only thing is, he's still a fuckboy. Turning 40 didn't magically endow him with principles he didn't have before. I heard through the grapevine that he started seeing someone earlier this year and within a couple months was telling people he wants to move in together with her. Meanwhile he's still flirting with me and other women. He only wants to settle down long enough for this woman to pop out a couple trophy children for him to do nothing to help raise just so they can carry his dumb last name. It won't last. When I was diddling him I was very adamant with him that I never want children. I actually do, but I didn't want him knowing that, lmao.
