I feel this also includes friendships. Never put up with people you don’t quite like just to avoid being “alone”.

What are some examples of lowering your frequency? Would becoming agitated, annoyed and disappointed in someone and their mistreatment and disrespect count as lowering your frequency? ‘Cuz I was all happy and fine until he started his BS out of nowhere... I think I just answered my own question, lol.
I would still like to hear other scenarios and examples, though.

I think some other examples are making yourself smaller to accommodate his ego. Like diminishing your own accomplishments, or covering for his bad behaviour with your friends, or tiptoeing around topics, or not holding firm to your boundaries. You’re not honouring yourself if you’re lowering yourself to accommodate his needs.

Or dumbing yourself down!

I had a friend who liked to talk shit about other people... I didn't quite like it, and she was like, come ooon, we're just gossiping, don't be such a party pooper, and stuff like that. I was reluctant at first, I even tried to change topics, basically raise our frequencies together, but later I noticed I started to talk shit about people too, so we could bond over it. That's how I lowered my frequency. And it didn't end well.

Ya know. Sometimes I’m not ready to sign on here, bc FDS is full of truth, but it helps me stay grounded in reality, even if it hurts. I love y’all.

Sometimes I cringe so hard I feel everything around me starts triggering me! I need a few minutes to recompose!

This could apply to so many types of relationships. One example it made me think of for me is, oddly enough, about a supervisor I had at my last job. He was really cold, he was known for forgetting his own instructions, having flighty ideas, being generally out of it, and blaming female employees baselessly when things went wrong. He would also totally turn away from me and start answering emails while I was talking to him during meetings.
I wanted to keep the job, so I tried hard to be attentive and follow instructions and go above and beyond. A couple of times I even mustered up the courage to confront him on his behavior. I had the job for like a year and a half and just ended up super burned out. Doing emotional labor for someone that daft isn't worth it. I have a much better job now that I got through connections I made at this one. 🙂

that's a lesson I took way too long to learn. I'd lower my frequency, expectations and boundaries in hopes they'd feel motivated to level up and meet me halfway. None of them ever did. All the settling we force ourselves to accept in order to accomodate a man's ego and lack of overall ambition in life is a waste of time and, dare I say, a hazard to our well being.

I did the same and got the same result.
Turns out men don't appreciate our understanding. They take it as a green light to do whatever the fuck they want.

It's like graduating from med school yet applying to work at McDonald's. Makes no sense.

This is SUCH a great metaphor.
Knew a guy who literally did this. Graduated med school, did his residency, got his license, got a great surgeon's job at an ER, and told people he was thinking about downgrading to a PA position or giving up his license to go live in Japan.
LVM are everywhere, ladies. Vet thoroughly.

This is so true whether it's about a partner or friend. I.e. my friend got swallowed up in qanon (after 20 years of friendship) and we would fight politics all over Facebook. So petty from like 2016 on. I did it from a place of love at first like hey wait here are some legit links and reasons why your ideals are based in misogyny(obviously nicer and more palatable to someone whom I was trying to reason with)...and here are some alternate people to listen too because your sources are (well you know) and then it turned into a mission to post facts when lies or conspiracies were posted. I realized she was never going to learn. She had chosen toxic stances on basic issues and anything I said would be considered the same...it would do literally no good. I realized it too late that this type of "friend" is the same as an abusive partner that takes you down to their level by fighting like them and slinging mud etc and by backing off of my toxic need to stay friends with people who didn't support my best interests i was able to get rid of friends and family that didn't help me be my best me, and allowed me to take months away from social media and focus on myself and allowed me to let go of all the toxicity holding me back. I still have a lot to work on but by stil being strong and not standing down while not stooping to others level I've taken control of who I keep in my life.
