A criticism that male advocates who are critical of feminism often get is that all we do is bitch and moan about feminism, and we don't actually do anything to help men.

While that is a falsehood (since there are plenty of non-feminist groups undertaking action to help men on the ground), I was thinking that, while LWMA seems like a promising subculture, it could be good to have a plan of sorts to undertake concrete action to improve men's lot and get closer to true equality.

This would not be a rigid, authoritarian top-down plan, but more of a list of issues to work on, geared towards concrete action. Different people can work on different issues based on their own interests, capabilities and priorities.

I think good places to start for inspiration are this subreddit's Mission Statement, the Reference Book of Men's Issues, the blog Because It's 2015, and David Benatar's The Second Sexism.

Some concrete areas of activism can be:

  • Advocating and lobbying for equal paid parental leave.

  • Advocating and lobbying for the legal recognition of male rape victims.

  • Advocating and lobbying for the abolition of male conscription in countries where it exists (I think this would be far preferable to the adoption of female conscription as a way of correcting gender discrimination).

The above should not even be controversial with regard to mainstream progressive and feminist thought. I've left off more controversial areas of action, like advocating and lobbying for a ban on non-therapeutic male infant circumcision, due process rights for those accused of sexual misconduct, etc. However, these more controversial topics would of course be a part of the list, since we can expect neither feminists nor tradcons to stand up for men in these regards.
