I realize that the vast majority of gamers DGAF or, even if they do, they'll still buy the game. However, I would think some small number will just say bag that noise and won't buy. I also realize that, perhaps, some small number of people might buy the game because of the SJW crap. The question from a business perspective is do the boycotters outnumber the boosters and, if so, by how much? That's really the only relevant question. V doesn't come out until October, so I guess we'll see the effect of this feminization of the FPS.

How I swiftly swipe games left (or is it right?):

The only character shown on the game cover is a woman (BF V)
Cover has multiple male and female characters, but a female is the focal point (smack in the middle, in the foreground, etc)
Game has Female Protagonist as one of its tags (Steam). Thankfully if a game has a lot of tags, Female Protagonist is usually among the visible ones. Other tags added to my Steam filter: casual, nudity, story rich, sexual content, comedy, family friendly, point & click (last one I briefly played was Monkey Island), visual novel, cute, mature, romance, too many.
I suspect that a lot of Story Rich tagged games are made by female developers.
Any game whose SJW level is at the irritating level.
Any game that uses sexy female characters in the background in the hopes that it is enough to distract the potential buyer from the game's non-existent/terrible/mediocre gameplay. Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory > Overwatch.

Don't think it's happened yet, but imagine the next release of Halo and the Master Chief is female.

The last game that I enjoyed with a female protagonist was Valkyrie Profile (PS1, 2000).

Let’s be real; in battlefield games, you can revive people with a defibrillator (or a syringe in BF1) heal teammates by just dropping a box, pick up ammo just by passing close to a weapon, carry weapons that cannot be normally carried by any normal human being, repair vehicles by just pretending to use a wrench close to them, aim, shoot and reload at insanely fast speeds, and a veeeeeery long etc.

My point is, if anyone thinks battlefield games are “realistic” or “aim to be realistic”, then I don’t know what to tell you. Plus, nobody should really be using video games to educate themselves, there’re plenty of books, reliable websites and other sources of info worth checking out.

I’m certainly not a fan of this new “inclusive, feminist friendly” approach taken by EA with BFV, but come on, BF games are anything but “realistic”.

Just don’t buy the game, that’s all EA cares about.

After seeing the trailer for the game I quickly decided to not buy the game. BUT then the multiplayer trailer came and it showcased my home town Narvik. This map is the only reason I have bought the game.
