C&H got it right

I don't try to make anything seem like anything, I merely express a view which worked for me. I'm not claiming a degree is a bad idea, I'm saying it's an overpriced piece of paper which is factual. Consumer debt is factual, economic instability is factual, bad choices is factual. The options are whatever the options you face and take on. I faced mine, I chose no degree and work my way up to where I am today. If that works for someone else, great. If one chooses the degree route and want everything that comes with it, great and good luck. It's just not for me. And as with any opinion from anyone, it may or not be based on anything or simply just a point of view. Like I said, doing neither leaves you penniless. The whole point of this sub is to GYOW, not "follow that dude." We express our view and take it or not. It doesn't mean our POV is wrong or right, it just means it doesn't fit you, and that's fine. That...and pumping children in the current world we live in is just a bad idea and probably will be even more so in the future.

Of course, no one thinks of that because its their right to have children, aint it.

Looks to me its more an act of selfishness than love, more often than not.

Especially with the single mothers epidemic, these women dont see it as bringing another life, a human being into the world, they see it as a monthly pay check and all the financial benefits that it brings.

I imagine there's a middle ground between not ever giving a shit, and boot camp. Structured guidance, yet not straight up controlling. I also share the hypothesis that boot camp style could result in a super whore later in life out of defiance...yet I suppose people just develop how they develop. Ah, but it comes at a cost. Children (and most of the time, their dick-hungry mothers) are a huge pain in the ass, at least financially. Look at the school fees. Insurance. All the bullcrap you'll buy them, and then they'll never look at it again. C'mon, we've all been kids. We have all seen our dads work his ass off for us, and we never really appreciated it untill we were well beyond childhood. People who can't decide should just ask their fathers on the difficulties they faced.

Ok, I dunno.... Oldies around me are quite opposite actually. They got fed up plenty with their kids, and moved over to live alone (well, you leave your parents when you grow up, but still).

Tbf we are at the verge of levelling our population . China is already in decline (accelerated due to their one child) and most major countries reached decline years ago with their main population and have their population increase due to immigrants and immigrants having more children. Japan is a model example, but Japan isn't an isolated case, it's what is happening around the world. Singapore has tried to bribe people into having children and it doesn't work, and all 5 BRIC countries are reaching that point too. The population should level at 10 billion. Whilst that is a lot of people. It's not close to the estimated population collapse of 14+ billion (which has no way to be sustainable on earth) . At 10 bill it's possible to live sustainably, as easy as it is to live sustainably now, the increased labour is roughly proportional to the increased man power.

I just say this so no man thinks to save the world because we are at risk of over population.

Payoff for the kids of the next generation, i.e. the grandchildren of the current parents. Not so much for the ones who are parents now, their kids will usually achieve greatness in their latter years, or when they are dead.

And having kids at an older age, while getting on with maturity, also means that you have less number of years to work and support your family. Might be more financially prepared, yes, but that's only for raising your child. How prepared will you be for your retirement??

Unfortunately, there are a lot of shitty parents and shitty kids who turn in to shitty adults and then repeat the shitty cycle with their own kids

All the time mate. All the time.

But hey at least the species marches on!

I'd prefer if they'd lay off for a while. Let the earth come to terms with the amount of worms on it.

Income has remained the same when adjusted for inflation, purchasing power has increased by only the smallest imaginable amount. It's easy to become a millionaire because of how little value the dollar has. As the dollar loses value, accumulating more NOMINAL dollars become easier, so the increase in millionaires is more a result of inflation than anything else. It doesn't mean REAL wealth increases.

Median income IS accurate, it measures the point at which 50% make more and 50% make less. Comparatively, the average income is grossly inflated by extreme high earners and people who don't work.

The average American hasn't seen an increase in purchasing power mainly because of population increase (mostly caused by uncontrolled immigration). In fact, every country where the rate of population growth decreases sees an immediate rise in median income AND wealth. Consider: Japan, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Russia, China, etc.

If you want a richer, happier, longer life, have fewer kids. You seem to be about white supremacy, so lets look at it through that lens. Here's some news: The trends are moving against us.
