NEVER give up your dog because your dog wouldn't give up on you. The stories of dogs laying on their master's graves or chasing an ambulance to be by their side. I'm not saying women are incapable of doing that but I have yet to experience or witness that first hand. I got dumped for showing emotions. I was going through a tough time and thought having a partner meant I could share my feelings, turns out that meant I was weak. Good on you for choosing family over a bitch.

When I was in Afghanistan in 2010 my wife at the time sent me an e-mail that she was going to put the family dog down because Sandy was old (I have a sneaking suspicion that she just didn't want to have the dog around--because Sandy would growl, bark, confront--as in wouldn't let them any farther in than where they stood--any adult males who came into the house or property while I was away from the house. I didn't train her to do that--she just did it--she was an awesome dog). The only adult males she had no problem with were my dad and brother (who is gay). Many e-mails/phone calls later (to my parents) and they took care of Sandy and my sons until I came home. We divorced four months after I came home and she had moved to a different part of the country to take a promotion that required her to spend more time at work. Sandy lived another four years and she was surrounded by my sons and I when she crossed "the Bridge". It still brings a lump to my throat and a tear in my eye when I think about her (my dog) and how loyal and protective she was--she even made sure the boys didn't cross the street by themselves when they were little by blocking them from the road. She was truly the only bitch (she wasn't fixed) who was ever loyal to me and the only one I could trust.

I have owned and trained 10 dogs. I wouldn't trade any of them for any relationship with 30 some women. One dog in particular was my soulmate. Wouldn't trade him for literally anything. Doesn't she know people can be quite attached to their dogs? Really inconsiderate and selfish how she demands you to make a choice and give you an ultimatum rather than apologetically suggest her idea or be willing to explore other options (ie. allergy pills). After all she's just a guest there but dog's been living almost all its life there and not letting him sleep in the same room would devastate the dog.

I must be different. But animals are not allowed anywhere in the house except the entryway or living room. They do not come into the bathrooms, the kitchen or the dining room.
