Dogs=20,000 yrs of selective breeding and biological ties to our emotional well being
Diamonds=a stone no rarer than turquise, which is very cheap, held up by a fake market based on pure evil (war, child slavery, etc) and manipulation.
[β][deleted] 47 points48 points49 points 8 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
exactly.
Men didn't even want to be married for thousands of years up until the early 1900's
Even in the 1800's men went their own way usually, women were called whores for raising a child without a father.
Now it's completely ass backwards, it only took 60-70 years of marketing from shit hole companies like DeBeers to change how society viewed women.
There is a reason why the greatest inventions happen 80-150 years ago, and since then we've kinda just been coasting. Women are dream killers.

To quote Sheldon Cooper:
Remarkable. Diamonds. Crystalized carbon. Every day, people go to the grocery store and come home with sacks full of carbon, in the form of charcoal brickets, which they toss in their barbecues and set on fire. But just because you have some carbon with the atoms stacked neatly, you expect me to plunk down thousands of dollars.

[β]ArtoriusXv0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
The trouble is buddy, that 99% of women are shallow these days.
[β]twotiredforthis0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
But not all are, and by generalizing over all of them, youβre doing it unfairly. The easiest way is to be more specific when you write, by saying something like βshallow womenβ instead of just βwomenβ. Thank you:)

I said 99% mate, that's not all of them. It's most of them.
Listen, women have never done anything too bad to me, couple rejections when I was younger but hey, that's life, it's just that I can see the truth of the world, and sadly it's the truth that most women are of no good.

Big difference. Dogs are manβs best friend and have been for thousands and thousands of years. Dogs have been bred to view humans as part of their kin, and in turn serve us with unwavering loyalty. Cats are almost like the modern woman in a way. They nag you for attention and food constantly, and when they donβt get their way the pussy (heh) tends to lash out and scratch or harm you physically or mentally. A man who loves dogs is a good soul. A woman who becomes a cat lady is typically an unhinged mess who views the cats as her only friends. Quite sad really. Moral of the story-dogs are godβs gift to mankind. Cats are like women-they only want attention, and their loyalty is questionable.

The real difference between crazy cat ladies and guy dog owners is that the crazy cat lady is crazy, with or without a cat.
Women tend to become crazier as they age, while guys don't unless it's senility setting in.

As a guy who likes cats, I completely disagree. Cats are independent, women (and dogs) are not.
Dogs are quite literally tools created to serve. You like them the same way women like men.
I prefer cats and it is fascinating to me how even millennia spent with people could not crush their free, independent spirit.
By the way, there was a time when people thought cats were working with the devil and got rid of them. Then rats spread the black death all over Europe, killing many millions. That's what you get. There's a chance that we're both here today because some cat that was still around caught the right rat before it could infect our ancestors.

Cats are interesting because even when they're being social they're antisocial...
There's a grocery store in the less affluent part of town where I live, I used to live down the street from it. Every time I would drive to it at 10pm to get groceries (I liked to shop late when not many people were there), I noticed that there were tons of cats on a grassy lawn nearby.
I didn't know if they were feral, stray, or just visiting from a nearby apartment complex (probably a mix of all three), but the funny thing is that they all decided to group up in the same area of the lawn, but with at least 20 feet separating each of them.
Cats like to be... nearby, but not interacting directly.
Kinda like how men like to have a woman... nearby, but not interacting directly, lol ;)
Cats are often characterized as being more like women, but I think in this one respect they are more like men.
If that is "antisocial", what are we for building fences around our "territories", though?
[β]Use_VOAT_Instead4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I love cats and dogs. Grew up with them all my life. Only now that I'm nearing 30 am I starting to understand cats. As I have 2. I wouldn't call them "Like Woman" thats degrading the cats. Think of cats as the ultimate individualist/ survivalist. You'll end up making friends. Though I easily make friends with most every animal.
It's simple.
Cats understand (and want their) personal space.
The best way to befriend a cat is to enter its home.... and then ignore it completely.
It will realize that you aren't going to chase it trying to touch it, and then classify you as a "non threat". Then its need for affection will draw it to you, cautiously at first, and when you react to that in a chill way, its trust grows. Before you know it you have a new best friend.
Dogs on the other hand have zero concept of personal space because, in their brain, the pack does everything together. Run around the neighborhood. Bring down prey. Eat. Sleep in a big pile.
My ex's pit bull literally whined and didn't know what to do when my ex would be hanging out in the living room watching TV and I'd be in the study on my PC.
PACK CANNOT SEPARATE!
99% of the time, when a cat is psycho it's because that cat has been abused in the past, people won't give it its space, it has no elevated positions (simulating a tree) that it can lurk in and look down on everyone from.. change these things and a cat's behavior improves immensely.
No different from making sure that a dog gets plenty of exercise and training and socialization with people and animals.
Women on the other hand....... maybe in a different society there would be a hope of curtailing their more destructive tendencies, but in today's Western society? Forget it, lol
[β]SuddenTrip1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I think it's funny that man loves dogs but hate an annoying girlfriend when dogs behave exactly like that, and woman prefers cats while cats behave with themselves as the priority so they'll act cold and mind their own business.
Cats go their own way and woman like them as pets while hating the guy that acts like that. Dogs always need attention and men like them but hate woman that act like that.

I had both and currently have a female cat and I take of my siblings dogs from time to time. I like cats because they, unlike most wives, are very cheap (100$ at the animal shelter for an sterilized and vaccinated pet) and very low maintenance and will be pretty to look at for all their life (usually 15 to 20 years).
Dogs demand more, but they give more, and the dog training world is a whole word to explore and learn about them and ourselves. Can't wait to get my Great Dane.
[β]48LawsOfFlour1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Cats have a pretty high dud factor. You end up with a bad cat, and that lazy fucker just sits around for years sucking down air and cat food.
They can be loyal, sweet and loving though, you've just gotta pour a ridiculous amount of time into socializing them at 4-12 weeks.

I read a first responder state that if someone dies alone with a dog that the dog will guard the body and only begin to consume it if near starvation. In comparison, cats tend to begin to consume their dead owner with a few days. I think that says it all.

Have fenced in backyard so I just throw a stick for a while with him. But I love that dog a lot more than I love most people including some family members. Took him to the vet the other day to get all his shots reupped. Vet told me not to be so close to his face cause he may bite me during the shots. Told him this dog would never bite me. Put my forehead against his and went through all 6 shots. Currently sitting on the shitter and he's sitting on my feet. He may as well be an extension of me. Dogs are great

Cat dad here. Two cats, both rescues. Both feral. Both female. One from the woods was wounded and ended up with 23 stitches before I decided to adopt her. The other is an 18 lb Norwegian who follows me around like a dog, hangs out in the yard with me. No fear of dogs. Dislikes women. Dogs love me, but cats are wild animals and I think that's neat. The shitty cats people have are almost always the result of poor ownership. Same with dogs. Almost every women I know including some LEO K9 dykes have shitty animals and IMO their treatment of the animals is borderline neglect which to me is abuse. I've integrated ramps along the walls in my spot so they can perch on top of things. No smell, I vacuum and clean the pans every other day. Almost every female I know doesn't bother with this and they wonder why the animals piss and shit everywhere and hold a grudge.

Dude, this is my exact belief too. I always observe that people tend to generally shower dogs with attention and walks, and leave cats to their own devices.. or pretty much ignore them like furniture, then wonder why they're not as social. That stereotype that "cats are assholes" always pisses me off because I know its because of human neglect. An animal brought up with love and attention will be good and happy to be around you. People are morons.. Good on you for rescuing them and giving them a good life. Mine are adopted. I absolutely love that ramp idea around the house. I've got a couple of cat tree's and toys for them, but now I wanna do what you did. Should be a fun project lol

Same had 3 (One passed on recently at 21). Still got the other two. Cat's are freaking awesome. So are dogs. I don't get this whole cat vs dog thing. Both are great pets in their own way. It's all about the effort you put into the relationship with them.
My cat is very dog-like. Greets me at the door with a meow or two every time I get home. The longer I'm gone the more meows I get and the longer the meows are. She will ride in the car with me looking out the window. If I call her, or ask her to get out of a room or off something she listens and does what I say. She stands in different spots and meows depending what she wants - food, water, catnip, milk, treat. She knows when I'm cooking chicken. She has an incredible ability to know when I don't want to be bothered, and when I need a little comfort. She also just stares at me all day when I work - it's kinda creepy but cute at the same time.

People are the same with dogs too. Get bit by one doggo and theyβre scared for life. That saddens me as dogs are amazing. So are cats. Animals in general are pretty dope. Mammals mostly. Quite so. Even birds and lizards. A friend had a bird (myna bird I think) that just loved me because I'd give it a scratching under his feathers.
I like dogs too but I just don't want to have to walk it. It's easier to just clean the cat litter than pick up after a dog. Or worse, let the dog use the backyard and have to watch where you walk.

Unpopular opinion but I can't stand dogs, needy, smelly and always try to get my attention like they can't leave me alone. It actually resembles an obsessive girlfriend who always needs me, caters to me for its needs and like children that never grow up. Also, they lick their own asshole, they don't have the concept of hygiene, need to train and still bark like they never learn anything. You can't leave them at home or they'll wreck everything because they are a pain in the ass. The loyalty is small compared to the mess they created.

That's a good point. A lot of "men" treating their dog like a child and saying the dog "loves" them, it's pretty creepy too.
**I didn't think I was as right as I am. Holy shit.

You must not like dogs then. They're awesome.
You pick up a dog from the street, he's homeless, been mistreated, so you take him home, look after him. Feed him, pretty soon you'll be best buddies for life.
You pick up a woman from the street, she's homeless, been mistreated, so you take her home, look after her. Pretty soon, you'll be left with nothing because "she needs space" "your just not good enough" "muh feelings"

I've always had animals in my life, rabbits, fish, cats, dogs, even horses (though I was forced to be around them)
Only woman I've ever had in my life is my mom, so I think I'm doing pretty good in that regard.
I honestly don't see what is so interesting about relationships and all that crap.
You give your doggo a squish from me lol.

Yep. Literally picked mine up 2 years ago from a shelter in North Carolina on my way moving from Phili to Texas.
Thought you were talking about a girl at first.
Yep. Literally picked mine up 2 years ago from a shelter in North Carolina on my way moving from Phili to Texas. Poor girl was a brilliant asian/caucasian mix who had been dumped by multiple previous men in different shelters. We instantly bonded and had a good time driving over two days hitting up every chick fil a we could find and stopping at all the state Forrestβs we could find to let her run around. Unfortunately she left me a year later when she met a Chad.

I think it's rather storge, ie. familial love, and it's definitely mutual between dog and master. It's what you see between members of a wolf pack as well. Philia is something I'd reserve for humans.
But it's a vital point, I'd even argue that the lack of differentiation is a leading cause of degeneracy in modern times. For example, I think the "no homo" meme is a dangerous piece of subversion that tries to establish eros as the normative and philia as the deviant from of relationship between males.
[β][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
They might not feel love as a human does, but dogs do feel something that is very akin to it. It is simply a matter of definition, where love is narrowly defined (so that only men actually express it).
